Are you burdened and feel pressed down by your everyday life? Is the responsibilities and load of your life, work, family, home, money, etc… seem to weigh you down and even drag you down into despair? Is there a purpose for all this? Will there be an end to it all?
I am here to tell you there is an answer. You may think you are done. But there is hope. Have you heard it has been said, “all things work together for good?” It is true to those God has changed and redeemed by His love.
Even so, you may be thinking, is there a God? Is there really a Heaven waiting at the end of this long tunnel of life? Is there a reward for enduring everything you have to endure?
Most people put it into this perspective, “am I good enough, done enough, or am I worthy to go to Heaven?” “Or am I too far gone.” “Why would God look favorably upon me?”
Well, those are all valid questions. Are you good? Before we divulge the answers, I want to tell you that God is so good and He loves you so much He has made a way for anyone who comes to Him with their whole hearts in humility, He will accept them.
Take a look at these next questions and judge yourself honestly.
Have you ever told a lie and or stolen anything that was not yours? What do we all anyone who lies and steals? You would be a liar and a thief.
Have you ever cursed God (God da**it) or used his name as a cuss word (OMG, JC)? That is called blasphemy and is very serious in God’s eyes. If you have done this you would be a blasphemer.
Have you ever hated someone or lusted after anyone? You would be at least a murderer and adulterer at heart in God’s eyes.
Have you coveted someone’s possessions, dishonored your father and mother, or worshiped anything other than God? These are all from God’s Law the Ten Commandments and He commands all mankind to live by them and keep them.
Jesus said, “You have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment. But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment;“ Matthew 5:21-22.
Jesus also said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:27-28.
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” Romans 3:10-12
If you are honest you have broken every one of them and so have I. So has every one of us. The truth is, you are not good. The hard truth is that all of us are criminals in God’s eyes. And we deserve our just punishment. Wow, what a freighting thing!
Even the good we try to do to please God would be worthless. It is like trying to bribe the judge. Just as if you were in court and you told the judge you would give him something if he would just let you off the hook. A righteous judge would never accept it. It would only get us in more trouble. As well as, God has given us a conscience that bears witness against us.
It is no wonder you feel this massive weight day in and day out. This immense weight you feel is the piling up of your load of sin. The unseen wrath of God and His judgment pressing down upon your shoulders. It weighs you down. It is heavy upon the spirits of all mankind.
What are you to do? How can you be saved from this massive weight of sin and the judgment to come?
“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ having been offered once to bear the sin of many,” Hebrews 9:27
Oh, how it gives me joy that you have read this far! Because there is HOPE! Yes, there is hope through Jesus Christ the Lord! God has made a way for salvation through His Son.
But God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:16-18
God sent His son Jesus Christ to the earth 2000 years ago to be born as a baby and grow and live as a man. He lived a perfect sinless life, He never displeased His Father in Heaven. He intentionally; for you and me went to the cross, was beaten, suffered, died, and took the complete Wrath of God upon Himself.
He did this for your sins, mine, and anyone who would come to Him for forgiveness. Then He rose again on the third day defeating sin and death that you may live. He did this because He loves you.
Someday you will die and you will stand before the Judge who is God. You will be found guilty and without Jesus, you will be sentenced to Hell. This is a place where written that the Fire does not go out and the worm does not die for all eternity. Where there is anguish, crying, wailing, and the gnashing of teeth. Yikes, I do not want you to go there.
The big question on your mind right now is, how do we escape such torment?
Right now! God offers you forgiveness, right now God offers you life, salvation, and relief from the weight of all of your sins.
He offers to you salvation and forgiveness of your sins as a free gift.
The thief(Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I(Jesus) came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. John 10:10-11
But what you must do is confess your sins to Him and not man. Repent, which means to turn completely away from them and turn, follow, and obey Jesus Christ as your Savion. He is your only hope. Completely and totally put your trust and faith in Him. He can and will can save you from the punishment you deserve.
You see He loves you so much. He was willing to take your punishment on the cross. You do not need to carry your load of sin any longer. Today is the day of Salvation, says the Lord. Today is the day you must cry out to Him to forgive you of all your sins.
He promises to all those who call upon His name, to all those who seek Him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, that He will hear from heaven and forgive. He also promises that He will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. A heart that will seek after what is good and know His ways.
What is more important than your eternal soul? What are you waiting for? You do not need to carry that hurtful load any longer.
Cry out to Jesus, it is not too late!
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” Romans 10:9-11
These earthly pleasures are so short and fleeting. How they drift away and are blown like the dust of the air. How they wither so quickly like the flower in the heat of the sun.
If you have read this far, I guarantee God has led you here for a purpose. I plead with you to consider carefully your life and how short it is and Eternity and how long it is. Jesus is waiting with His arms wide open to receive you into His care.
“And we know that for those Who love God All things work together for Good, for those Who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
