All Day Long He Waits

The Lord Jesus Christ is waiting for you with His hands extended to receive you. He has been waiting patiently all your life for you to humble yourself, repent, and turn away from your life of sin. He is ever looking the world over for those who will turn to Him in humility and seek righteousness.

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9

Do you know or realize everything you have done against the Lord God? All your lying, stealing, blasphemy against God, lust, hatred, cheating, and so much more. He sees you as a lawbreaker and a criminal for breaking His holy Law, the Ten Commandments. But He is merciful and gracious to those who turn from sin. But He will not let the guilty go unpunished.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Yes, He has written His commands upon your heart. Your conscience is bearing witness against you that this is true. Whether you listen to it or not, that decision is up to you. Everyone knows the difference between right and wrong. What will you decide?

For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature, do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. Romans 2:14-16

You may have heard the phrase, “Your days are numbered.” It is true. You do not know how much longer He will be patient with you. How long do you have? Did you know that over 150,000 people die each day on this earth? One day, you will also die, and you will stand before God, the holy Judge, and He will judge you in righteousness.

Jesus Christ is your only hope. He is the only way to stand before God and not be condemned. Because of His perfect sacrifice, He can pay for your sins. You broke His Law, and He paid the price for your redemption.

He is calling you. Will you listen and obey? Or will you rebel? Will you cover your ears and ignore His call to repentance? Will you refuse to listen to the message that will save you from an eternity of punishment and torment? He died, was buried, and rose again for the forgiveness of your sins.

Can you hear the Spirit of the Lord calling you? Do not ignore Him. But come to Him for complete forgiveness and healing. First, you must humble yourself and repent of your sins and old ways. Then, turn away from your lifestyle of sin and rebellion to His Law.

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore, I was provoked with that generation and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’” Hebrews 3:7-11

Repent, therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, Acts 3:19-20

He loves you so much that He died for you on the cross of Calvary. He took the complete wrath of God upon Himself so that you may be forgiven and save your soul from eternal death and torment in Hell. He has prepared that place of punishment for sinners and lawbreakers.

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds, we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—everyone—to His own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6

He is offering you forgiveness today. “Today is the day of Salvation,” says the Lord. So humble yourself and turn to Him. Forsake your wicked ways and seek Him; seek righteousness. The day of judgment is coming soon, and God will judge you according to righteousness. On that day, it will be too late to repent. It is His standard and His ways that you must obey. It is Jesus that brings salvation to men. That gives you the ability to follow and obey His Law.

It is not just a one-day decision but a lifelong decision to give your life to Him. To turn every aspect of your life over to Jesus. To obey His commands and follow Him no matter what. But without the cleansing power of Jesus’ blood, you have no hope because He is the only one who saves sinners from Hell. He is the only one who can cleanse you from your sins and bring you into the right relationship with God.

Turn to the Lord Jesus today. I pray the Holy Spirit gives you the gift of repentance. Eyes that see, ears that hear, and a spirit that understands the Gospel. I pray He gives you sorrow over your sin. Do not wait because tomorrow may be too late. Cry out to God for forgiveness.

No one is guaranteed another moment. One moment, you may be living life to the fullest, as you may think. Believing you are ok. Then, in the next, you are swept into eternity. When will you choose Jesus? When will you choose life and forgiveness? He is waiting for you. Now, the choice is in your hands.

I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; Isaiah 65:1-2
