Look To The Lord

The upright and the righteous who trust in the Lord will prosper and be honored by the Lord. But the wicked and perverse who despise those who do good and wrongly slander their names will not stand in the end. They will not last, for their lies will find them out. The falsehoods they stood upon will crumble, and they will be ashamed before everyone. For the Lord reveals to all who they really are.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Psalms 1:5-6

Do not look upon the wicked and be envious of how they may prosper now, or say, why not the righteous Lord? Why not the righteous? Do not worry; God will take care of you. He will also take care of the wicked; what they have stored up for themselves will be swept away in a moment.

In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there. But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace. Psalm 37:10-11 Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist. When your eyes light on it, it is gone, for suddenly it sprouts wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven. Proverbs 23:4-5

The Lord will not let their wickedness go unpunished. They may have the best things in this world now and wealth and comfort, but later there will be nothing but pain and suffering. The Lord’s wrath will come down on their heads, and they will forever live in regret, shame, and suffering. Everyone will receive what they have earned.

This is the portion of a wicked man with God and the heritage that oppressors receive from the Almighty: If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword, and his descendants have not enough bread. Those who survive him the pestilence buries, and his widows do not weep. Though he heap up silver like dust and pile up clothing like clay, he may pile it up, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver. Job 27:13-17

The righteous do not look to the good things of this world but to what is higher, what is better, and what comes from the Lord. They look to the righteous blessings of the Lord. They look to things that are eternal and spiritually pure. God gives the things no man can purchase with money, the heavenly riches that make silver seem like dirt and gold like gravel.

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the Lord. In the fire of His jealousy, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full and sudden end, He will make of all the inhabitants of the earth. Zephaniah 1:18

Fear the Lord and seek His face always to do His will. Follow Him in all your ways and look not to the things of this world, for they will all pass away. Look to the things that will last for eternity and the One who provides what you need when you need them. He will keep your place secure among the Heavenly dwellings. Though you may have suffered here in this life temporarily, you will rejoice in great joy eternally because you desired righteousness instead of wealth and fame.

The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short. The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. The way of the Lord is a stronghold to the blameless but destruction to evildoers. The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land. The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. Proverbs 10:27-32
