What has happened to the people of this world we live in? Why is it that they go about their business day in and day out and have no regard for the least of these, for the hungry, for the needy, the broken, and for those who truly want to give of their lives to others and the Lord?
You have your family, your home, your job, and everything the Lord has so graciously poured out into your lap. What have you done with it? Do you look around at those less fortunate? Do you see the pain, suffering, and hunger? Do you sacrifice and open your hands and wallet to help them?
How often do people really think about how much they have and how much they really need. Do you not know that the things if this world will soon pass away? They are only temporary and as a mist. The wealth you now have will soon be gone. Here today, gone tomorrow!
4 Do not toil to acquire wealth;
be discerning enough to desist.
5 When your eyes light on it, it is gone,
for suddenly it sprouts wings,
flying like an eagle toward heaven.
Open your eyes and hands to all of those around you that are truly in need. Look to the Lord for what you should do with it. Not the churches and those who are already well off and prosperous.
Give to others and you will be giving to the Lord.
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Give to those who are hurting, the poor, the voiceless, those in bondage, and especially to those who are poor but yet they seek to serve the Lord with every fiber in their being. With everything they have.
They are true followers of Christ they seek to honor the Lord with all they have. They will lay down their life for others and for the sake of the call that they have received from the Lord.
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
Stop spending your money on the worthless thing of this world. Stop spending it on yourself, your selfish purposes and for your own gain. Honestly, you are gaining nothing! Nothing at all.
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.
But build up treasure in heaven. Give to the Lord by giving to those who truly need it. What you give to the least of these you give to the Lord.
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Let the Lord have your entire life, your entire world, and all that you have given it up for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God!
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
2 Corinthians 9:10
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
