Most people reside in one of two primary states, pride or humility. Those who walk in their pride can be destructive to the relationships of those around them, whereas those living humbly build relationships even with strangers. Which state do you live in? It is not about pointing the finger in the judgment of others. But to look in the mirror and judge yourself rightly.
You need to understand that the Lord is opposed to the proud but gives grace and mercy to the lowly and humble. Take a good hard look at yourself and judge yourself with honest judgment to see if you are prideful or humble. A handy tool to know if you are following His ways or not is His Law found in Exodus 20. So take some time and search your heart and choose to change.
But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5
The Lord watches and knows the hearts of all mankind. He sees through every false and faulty persona of a person. Everything is bare and naked before His eyes; nothing is hidden from His sight. That means He sees when you are pretending to be good when you are not when you are walking in pride.
He calls out to all mankind to humble themselves before Him and repent of their wickedness and prideful ways. He calls you to turn from sin and humble yourself before Him. But don’t worry, if you do humble yourself; He will forgive and not turn anyone away who comes to Him with humility.
For though the Lord is high, He regards the lowly, but the haughty He knows from afar. Psalm 138:6 He has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; Luke 1:52
Are you willing to take a stand in agreement with God against yourself? Are you ready to humble your heart, mind, and soul before the Lord? Give everything to Him. Turn all control over into His hands. He does not disappoint His faithful and humble servants when they come to Him with humble hearts.
One’s pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. Proverbs 29:23
Always remember that the Lord is gracious, kind, and slow to anger. He will forgive those who come to Him. So don’t tear your clothes, which has nothing to do with the real problem but tear your heart and know that you have sinned. Repent and turn from the prideful ways that you have been living. Come humbly to the His throne of grace that you may be forgiven. I will repeat it because He has declared it, He never turns away those who come to Him in humility for forgiveness.
Toward the scorners, He is scornful, but to the humble, He gives favor. Proverbs 3:34 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Matthew 23:12
Amen
