Pride or humility, people live and reside in two main states, those who walk in their pride and those who are humble. Which state do you live in? For the Lord is opposed to the proud but gives grace and mercy to the lowly and humble. Take a good hard look at yourself and judge yourself with true and honest judgment to see if you are prideful or humble.
For the Lord watches and knows the hearts of all mankind. He sees through every false and faulty persona of the man. Everything is laid bare and naked before His eyes, nothing is hidden from His sight. He calls out to all men to humble themselves before Him and repent of their wicked and prideful ways.
Are you willing to take a stand in agreement with God against yourself, and humble your heart, mind, and soul before the Lord? Give everything to the Lord. Turn it all over into His control and into His hands. He is gracious, kind, and slow to anger. He will forgive those who come to Him. Tear not your clothes but tear your hearts and repent, and come humbly to the Throne of Grace that you may be forgiven. He never turns away those who come to Him in humility for forgives.
For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar. Psalm 138:6
Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. Proverbs 3:34
One’s pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. Proverbs 29:23
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Matthew 23:12
He has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; Luke 1:52
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5
