The work of the Lord is mysterious and wonderful to behold. Those who believe in Him will rejoice.
But He is not the one who creates confusion or dismay. He is righteous, purposeful, and His plan is perfect and precise.
He allows deep darkness, difficult struggles, taunting afflictions, and vicious attacks to come upon His holy people. Even as He allowed them to come upon Job His faithful and righteous servant. He has a purpose.
And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”
Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.”
And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. Job 1:8-12
The Lord allows such things to happen to His servants not to destroy them, but to show the strength of their faithfulness. To prove to all the earth that there are still those with a pure heart and who hold fast to integrity. Those who believe the Lord even to death, if need be.
And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me against him to destroy him without reason.” Job 2:3
God will flush out the wicked, to tear down the foolish, unholy, and religious who only look on the outside, instead of the heart. Who walk by the understanding and wisdom of their own hearts, instead of that of the ways of the Lord.
He does these things to strengthen, embolden, and uphold the righteous as they truly are, holy, righteous, and faithful at any cost. To show the unbeliever what integrity, honesty, and righteousness truly looks like.
God will rebuke those who rebuked you. He will provide a feast of gladness before their very eyes. There will be no doubt who was right and who was wrong.
After the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves.
And my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.” Job 42:7-8
God will uphold and honor His servant. Wait and see. Great things are coming for those who follow, obey, and believe in the Lord God Almighty.
Stay devoted and faithful to your God, He has said it before and He says it again,
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
Yes, the storms will come and the storms will pass. But the Word of the Lord will remain forever and His servants will remain at His side thereafter forevermore.
There is no one else in heaven or under heaven greater to put your trust in than the Lord God Almighty. He will be proved right, holy, and powerful to all the world and to save to the uttermost.
He is the One who resides in unapproachable light! The One who is unmovable, unshakable, unimaginable, and incomparable. Whose love for you is unstoppable!
Therefore David blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours.
Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:10-13
