Keep your eyes fixed upon the Lord. He will show you the right way. Blessed is the man who puts his trust in the Lord and not in the strength of man. Your strength and direction come from the Lord.
He says, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength.” But “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.” Jeremiah 17:5
The world and the devil will do anything or use anyone to pull you away from your focus and distract you from the right path, from your destined place. Just look around you, the world is full of distractions. It has gotten worse year by year. These things cause you to veer off in the wrong direction.
In that very moment, you are tempted to gaze away, remember it is the Lord’s ways that are true, and He will bring you through. His will for your life is what is important. Not these fleeting pleasures and things that distract. He is always ready to help you focus on what is right and good for you to do. To shine His light on the path ahead.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. Psalm 119:105-106
But when that time comes when you do look away, because we all do, and you do swerve from the path. You must return quickly to the Lord. He will be waiting with open arms. He will forgive and forget. He knows you are weak and He works wonders through the weakness of man when they come with humility and repentance.
Then resist the devil for his evil trick and deception in Jesus’ name. Then he will flee from you and you will be strengthened by the Lord. Then hop back up on that path that leads to life. Have full assurance that the Lord is with you. Resolve to not look to the right or left. The Lord will be right there to guide you wherever you go.
He is a loving, caring, and forgiving God, slow to anger and quick to forgive. His hand will hold, keep, protect, and strengthen you for the road that lies ahead. Focus on Jesus. He is your goal. He will never fail. He will keep you until the end when you trust in Him.
Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” Jeremiah 17:5-10
