What Really Matters

The world we all live in is wicked, and I know we must live in it and among the people and the governing authorities. But remember that you must resist the devil and his deceitful and wicked ways as you travel through as in a foreign land. You are only passing through. But on your way, declare the truth of the Gospel to all who will listen and warn them to turn away from their evil ways to God.

I know many of you strain to declare the truth. You are revealing to others that they have sinned and that someday, punishment will come if they do not repent and believe in Jesus. There will be those who listen, but most will not.

Do not be discouraged; you are working for the Kingdom of God. Your true reward comes later; this is not your home, and neither anything in it is truly yours. But it is given to you that you may use it to bring others to Christ. So remember that you have already been seated in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus. The things in this world are not what matters, but it is the Heavenly riches you are storing. It is saving souls that really matters.

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4

Jesus told the young rich man to sell everything he owned, give to the poor, and follow Him. See this as an example that working for Christ is of much greater value than gaining all the world’s wealth. We are earning eternal riches that no one can take away.

Therefore, it is more valuable to follow and obey the Lord Jesus Christ in everything than to gain anything in this world. Therefore, do not let anyone distract you from the unnumbered things that distract you from doing what is of actual value: God’s Word, the instruction of the Spirit of God, and spreading the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these, we will be content. 2 Timothy 6:6-8

You must walk on the road the Lord has laid for you. You must keep your eyes on Jesus and the mission He has given you. You will be held responsible for each decision, thought, and action. But remember that you are never alone, for the Lord God is with you always. His Spirit leads, guides, and directs your every step, never leaves you, but helps you in every way. You may not know this, but the Lord has assigned angels to your side for protection. He takes care of His children; there is no doubt of that.

Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17

Consider this: each time you do something for the Lord, you are building up treasure in Heaven. You can’t even imagine how wonderful and amazing Heaven will be. Everything there is good, and nothing will be evil. Everything joyous and pleasant is there; nothing sorrowful will ever be allowed.

God is preparing a place for you proportional to the hard work you have done Him. No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived of what the Lord has prepared for you in eternity. So remember and keep pressing forward, doing what really matters.

“Kingdoms come, and Kingdoms go, but through the Word of God, I know, when all in life is done, and past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” Carman Licciardello

But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him” these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10
