God dwells in the heavens. He rules and reigns with complete supremacy and sovereignty. He is in full control over all things and is the one with absolute authority. His reign and sight reach the farthest edge of the universe, and nothing goes unnoticed. There is not one atom that can escape His sight. There is nowhere you can hide. There is no shadow in your best hiding place, but it is as if the sun is shining at full strength.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13
Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. Psalm 139:7-12
He holds the righteous in His hand. His armies guard them, guided by His Spirit, and never will they be put to shame or cast down. Though the wicked hate you, tear, scratch, and rip at your goodness. However, they lash their evil tongues at each other to defame and ridicule you. The Lord will protect you under His wings. He will redeem the names of the righteous. He will raise them on high before the congregation.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings, you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. Psalm 91:1-6
Yet the wicked do not see. They do not understand who God is and the protection He has placed upon His children. Nor can they even comprehend it. In their twisted minds, they have already claimed victory. In their vile version of wisdom and craftiness, they believe they will get away with it all. They think they will never have to stand accountable for anything. But, oh, how wrong they are. They will fall with a great crash by the hand of the Lord.
Behold, these are the wicked; always at ease, they increase in riches. Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin. How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors! Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms. Psalm 73:12, 18-20
Everything that happens is by the very Word of the Lord. It is allowed by God for His ultimate purpose and plan. Though the righteous will suffer and may die in the flesh, the spirit is saved and rewarded in everlasting glory. He upholds the righteous and will preserve them to the uttermost. The wicked rule and triumph for a time, but there will come a day when the Lord will cast them down under His feet. Then, the righteous will shine like the sun, like radiant stars in the heavens.
The Son of Man will send His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear. Matthew 13:41-43
Seek the Lord in all your ways. Seek righteousness and goodness. Seek to obey His laws and precepts. God sees, and He rewards you according to what you have done. Don’t look, worry, or be upset at the outward prosperity of the unrighteous. Though they rise high, they will not last. You will look again, and they will be gone forever.
Though the world hates you, the Lord your God will reward your faithfulness. He will bless you greatly for every good, selfless, and sacrificial act. Therefore, continue to walk in your integrity and the Lord’s ways. It is better to suffer for righteousness sake for a short time and then rejoice in eternity.
The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous. In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul. My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
If favor is shown to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness, he deals corruptly and does not see the majesty of the Lord. O Lord, your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people and be ashamed. Let the fire for your adversaries consume them. O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. Isaiah 26:7-12
