The Lord’s Plans In Hand

To those whom Jesus saves, you were once dead in your sins, and to the understanding of the Lord. You wandered around in the dark, not knowing which way to go. You were worldly, following all the desires of your flesh and all the desires that the World had to offer, but not anymore. Does this sound like you?

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience, among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.  Ephesians 2:1-3

But through the transformation that only comes from the Holy Spirit, by the blood of Christ Jesus, given to you by the Father, God Himself, you have been set free from sin and death. You are free to live a righteous, holy, and pure life. You are free to honor and glorify Jesus in everything you do, say, and think. Praise God; He has given you this ability and freedom.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace, you have been saved and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:4-9

But even more than that, what is truly amazing is that God has prepared everything for you to do ahead of time. Listen to the understanding that Paul was given on why you and I are here on earth to do. God has prepared everything beforehand. If you feel like there has to be more for you to do for His Kingdom, wait; it will happen.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10

Isn’t that amazing? God prepared for you to do great work for the Kingdom of God before anyone ever knew you. Not only is He shaping, molding, and crafting you as one of His chosen people. He is purifying, teaching, disciplining, and guiding you to be more like Christ so that you can do His work more efficiently and effectively.

He does all this so that you may do good works for Him. He planned everything you would do before the beginning of time. Isn’t that also incredible? God designed every detail and thought of you before He even created the World.

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you. Psalm 139:16-18

If He has planned it all out, preparing this excellent work for you, then He will ensure you have the skills, means, and abilities to succeed. He will open the doors of opportunity for you to accomplish them just at the right time, exactly when He has ordained them to open. Nothing in Heaven or on Earth can stop it. The Lord has determined it, declared it, and will follow through with it. You do not have to search for it or try to make it happen alone. Just follow His lead.

You already have everything you need. You have God. What else is required if you have the Creator of the Universe and His plans in hand? Trust Him and do His will. Make righteous decisions, and He will guide you along the way. He will open those doors that no one can shut.

Behold, I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you. Revelation 3:8-9
