Keep Watch For Falsehood

Do not be like those who are false, pretending to be pure in the church, yet are just like the people of this world. Watch out for them. In this day and age, they are everywhere. Masquerading as angels of light. When they open their mouths to speak, when you see the fruit of their lives and the work of their hands, they will display their true colors.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So, it is no surprise if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

Refrain from following their ways. Do not go along with their folly. Some proclaim Jesus, but with foul hearts, deceitful schemes, cunning plans, and evil intent, they deceive and lead many astray to their destruction. Then, they minister under a man-made Ordination, Church Leadership, or Ministry title and are found guilty in God’s sight.

But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively. Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion.

These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever. Jude 1:10-13

They may hide their vile ways and wicked behavior in front of men, but the eyes of the Lord see everything. He sees it all, has accounted for and has written down all of their deeds. Their judgment is drawing close. Their time is running out. They will not escape from the mighty hand of God’s judgment.

Even the beasts of the earth know their course. They see the boundary that the Lord has placed before them. They know it well; they adhere to the borders the Lord has established for them. But these people have no sense or understanding, believing they are right in every way. They refuse to listen to instruction, correction, or rebuke from true servants of the Lord. They refuse to obey the Law the Lord has so clearly laid out.

For although they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

Therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. Romans 1:21-25

Follow the Lord in all your ways. Do not listen to them. Turn away from them, and keep your eyes always on the Lord. What He says is true. Follow His leading and lean upon Him in everything. His Laws, way, precepts, and commands will be life to your bones and strength to your spirit. He will bless you greatly for all you do for Him. Pray that the Lord will give you eyes to see and ears to hear His Spirit so that you may discern all those who walk in falsehood.

“You shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: When men fall, do they not rise again? If one turns away, does he not return? Why, then, has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they refuse to return. I have paid attention and listened, but they have not spoken rightly; no man relents of his evil, saying, ‘What have I done?’

Everyone turns to his own course like a horse plunging headlong into battle. Even the stork in the heavens knows her times, and the turtledove, swallow, and crane keep the time of their coming, but my people know not the rules of the Lord. “How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us?’ But behold, the lying pen of the scribes has made it into a lie.

The wise men shall be put to shame; they shall be dismayed and taken; behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord, so what wisdom is in them? Therefore I will give their wives to others and their fields to conquerors because, from the least to the greatest, everyone is greedy for unjust gain; from prophet to priest, everyone deals falsely. Jeremiah 8:4-10
