Be Steadfast And Unmovable

What is the size of your faith? In the face of long-enduring hardship and trial. Does your faith stand fast, or does it crumble? Who do you trust? Does the quality of your faith rely on what you can see, feel, or have? If your faith depends on anything other than the Lord. It is not faith at all, but it is doubt. You must believe and have confidence in the Lord without seeing the outcome because He does.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it, the people of old received their commendation. By faith, we understand that the universe was created by the Word of God so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

And without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:1-3,6

How did Jesus describe faith, and what illustration did He use? He used the smallest of garden seeds, the mustard seed. This seed is so tiny yet grows like a tree, the largest of garden plants.

And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Luke 17:6

Jesus said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

Jesus is saying that if you have any faith, it is powerful and can even move mountains. But if you live in disbelief, doubt, and worry, you will fall when you come up against trials, tribulations, and tests. If you don’t hold fast to faith in Him, you may have no faith at all.

Isaiah said through the Holy Spirit, “If you are not firm in faith you will not be firm at all.” Isaiah 7:9

Faith is trusting in God no matter the circumstances, trusting in the unseen promises of God. Having confidence and assurance that He will do as He has said He would do.

Take, for example, if you were on a plane 10,000 feet up and the engine failed. If you have faith in the parachute, it can save your life. Either you trust in the parachute and jump, or you cling to the plane and crash. Either you have faith or do not.

God’s Word is true, and He can not lie or break His promises. If He has declared it, it will happen. If He has spoken it, it will come to pass. The Lord God is in full control of everything, the good, bad, and the ugly. Everything is in His Hand and His sovereign control. Therefore, there is no more excellent or dependable being in existence that you can put your faith in.

He(Jesus) is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrews 1:3

The fact that it says, “He sat down,” shows His complete sovereignty, authority, and control. Absolutely nothing is outside of His sight, dominion, and power. Not even Satan and his demons have any real power. Without God allowing them space to do their deeds for now. Even they need permission to afflict the world with their schemes.

But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! James 2:18-19

It is all used for the Glory of the Lord. It is all according to His plan to gather His people for the end. It is all for the good of the Kingdom of God and for the good of His Saints.

Think of what He did for Job. He allowed such horrible pains and tribulations to come upon Job that He might show the world what true faith is. He plans everything for good in every situation. But you need to believe Him. You need to be firm in your faith like Job and push on holding to your integrity as he did.

You can have this faith and complete trust in this awesome and powerful God. Pray to the Lord, ask for it, trust Him for it, and believe He will give it. Then stand firm in it.

Seek to increase your faith daily as you see God’s faithfulness to you. Stand firm in your faith. Stand firm in the Lord, with His armor securely fastened. Holding fast to your trust in what He has said is true. Even with the smallest of faith, you will not be shaken but steadfast and unmovable. It is not just believing but knowing that He is in control.

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what is promised. For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay, but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. Hebrews 10:36-39
