The Gate Of Life

All the peoples of the earth, from Adam until now to the end of time, have committed sins and have rejected the ways of God. They have decided to walk a path of their choosing. To go through a gate they have picked to suit themselves. Unfortunately, according to God, when you choose your own way, that gate leads to an eternal destination. Yes, there is a right way and a wrong way to go. Have you entered the right path through the correct gate of Jesus Christ?

But Jesus said, “Narrow is the gate, and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

The world has rebelled against God and His holy Laws, saying He does not exist. They have raised their fists to Him in defiance, saying, “We will believe what we want, go where we want, and do what we want.” God has placed within each person’s heart the knowledge of good and evil, but they ignore God’s gate of life.

There is a good reason you have a conscience to know good from evil, right from wrong. It is to help guide you on the path Jesus wants you to lead, but most still rebel even though His message of love and forgiveness has gone out for all to hear.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—everyone—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him(Jesus) the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23

Listen, God does not treat you as you deserve. He is so patient with you. He gives you every opportunity to turn to Him because He is kind, compassionate, and slow to anger. Even though you offend Him greatly with your lies, thefts, lust, and more, He waits for you to come to Him. He pours out on you His love with all the good you enjoy and gives you another chance daily to repent and seek Him. His love for you is so great that He sacrificed the life of His own Son, Jesus Christ, to pay your sin debt.

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds, we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5

Like a lamb led to slaughter, Jesus humbly and willingly went to the cross of Calvary. He shed His blood for the forgiveness of your sins. Even though He did nothing wrong deserving of any punishment, He did that for you. In this way, He opened a path for your salvation. A gate to eternal life, a way you may enter a place of forgiveness, healing, and grace. But you must search for it and believe in Jesus by faith, seeking Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. Isaiah 53:7

You may not be able to see Him. But honesty, you have faith in many things you can’t see. You have faith in an airplane pilot even when you never see him. You have faith in the bank that holds your money, though you have never met those who guard it. The wind blows, but you can see the effects of it. We can see the order, genius, and glory in each sunrise, so much so that the time when the sun will rise can be predicted hundreds of years because God created everything to follow a precise order.

You see, even if you don’t believe in Him. You know that one day you will die. You may not realize it, but you will stand before Him in judgment, and He will give you what you have earned here on earth. Like a judge that does not weigh your good against your bad, He will only judge what you did wrong. But Jesus took the punishment you deserve for your many crimes and sins against God. He took the complete Wrath of God upon Himself as punishment for your sins. So now there is a wide path that leads to your destruction and a single gate that leads to life. That gate is Jesus Christ; which one will you choose?

By oppression and judgment, He was taken away, and as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made His grave with the wicked and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, and there was no deceit in His mouth.

Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush Him; He has put Him to grief; when His soul makes an offering for guilt, He shall see His offspring; He shall prolong His days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. Out of the anguish of His soul, He shall see and be satisfied; by His knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and He shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53:8-11

Though He was perfect and had never sinned once, He took the death sentence on your account so that you may not die but have eternal life. Jesus wants to give it to you as a free gift; He offers this life to all who believe in Him. He has laid a path before you, a narrow gate, that if you choose it, you will go to Heaven after you die.

How amazing this is, what revelation, what a cause for celebration if you have decided to follow Jesus. Yes, the angels in Heaven celebrate when a sinner repents and chooses the right path.

Just so I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Luke 15:10

Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He was victorious over sin and death. He has put them all behind His back, never to remember your sins again if you repent and turn from your wicked ways.

Now, He has become the gateway to life for you, the gate to life everlasting in Heaven so that you may reside with Him for all eternity. Either you will choose the broad, easy path that leads to sorrow, death, and suffering, paying for your own sins. Or you will choose the narrow and hard way that will forever lead to life, joy, peace, and gladness. There is no more suffering, tears, sin, or sorrow in this place ever again.

But you must turn from your life of sin, from your life of rebellion against God, from your disbelief to follow Jesus Christ. You must repent of your sins, ask Jesus for forgiveness, and follow Him and His ways. Please turn to Jesus today and call out to Him for forgiveness. Determine to go through His narrow gate of life.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

I shall not die, but I shall live and recount the deeds of the Lord. The Lord has disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over to death. Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it.

I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success! Psalm 118:17-25
