All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him(Jesus) the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6
All the peoples of the earth from Adam until now, to the end of time, have committed sin and have fallen short of the Glory of God. We as a whole have rebelled against God and His holy Law and precepts, raising our fist to God in defiance saying, we will do what we want, ignore His instructions, and sin in any manner we choose.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23
But praise be to the Lord God Almighty, who does not treat you as your sins deserve. He is kind, compassionate, and slow to anger. Even when you were deep in sin, dead to the understanding and knowledge of God, His love was so great for you He sacrificed the life of His own Son Jesus Christ in exchange for yours.
Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter Jesus humbly and willingly went to the cross of Calvary and shed His blood for the forgiveness of your sins. Even though He did nothing wrong.
He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. Isaiah 53:7
He took the punishment that you deserved, for your many crimes and sins against God. He took the complete Wrath of God upon Himself as punishment for your sins. Though He was perfect and had never sinned once, He took the sentence of death on your account that you may not die but have eternal life given to you. As a free gift, He offers life to all who believe in Him.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made His grave with the wicked and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, and there was no deceit in His mouth.
Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush Him; He has put Him to grief; when His soul makes an offering for guilt, He shall see His offspring; He shall prolong His days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. Out of the anguish of His soul He shall see and be satisfied; by His knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and He shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53:8-11
What amazement this is, what revelation, what a cause for celebration! That Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He was victorious over sin and death, and He has put them behind His back never to remember them again. Now He has become the gateway to life for you, the gate to life everlasting in Heaven to be with Him and God for all eternity. No more crying, no more suffering, and no more soul tearing sin ever again!
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
Praise be to God for the wonderful gift of forgiveness, mercy, grace, and life everlasting through His Son Jesus Christ, the Gate to Life.
I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord. The Lord has disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over to death.
Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it. I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation.
The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success! Psalm 118:17-25
