Be Not Surprised

Continue in the faith and confident trust in your Lord Jesus Christ. No one is more worthy of your loyalty, confidence, and trust. Keep seeking to do His will no matter what comes against you. Keep trusting in His promises and the hope He has given you.

It is time to awaken and keep sober, for the enemy has come out to deceive many in these last days greatly. It is time to keep your armor tight. Keep your sword and shield close and at the ready. The wicked ones of this world are bearing their teeth, showing their true colors, and no longer hiding in the shadows. They have come out in full force to pollute and destroy the land. To attempt to kill as many people as they can before their end.

Refrain from being surprised at what is going on. Instead, speak the truth of the Gospel with boldness. It has not surprised the Lord; it is all happening to fulfill His plan. Persecution always propels believers to proclaim the Gospel with greater boldness. God has a purpose for it all, and He also knows the purpose of the wicked, and their end is set in stone by their own hands.

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or His ear dull, that it cannot hear, but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies; your tongue mutters wickedness. No one enters suit justly; no one goes to law honestly; they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies, they conceive mischief, and give birth to iniquity. They hatch adders’ eggs; they weave the spider’s web; he who eats their eggs dies, and from one that is crushed, a viper is hatched. Isaiah 59:1-5

We are living in a corrupt and wicked world. We have been for a very long time. But there is something more evil that has allowed itself to be more open with its vileness. It has raised its head and has captivated the world with its deception.

People speak open lies and slander, calling things that are good, evil, and evil good. They are now calling the righteous wicked. They call out racism and hate against those who practice honesty and integrity. In contrast, they are the ones who are evil. They defile themselves and do not care for what God says is sinful. The Bible warned these times would come and how great their sins would be. They pile it up to the heavens, having no fear of God or the judgment to come. But it will come.

But understand this, that in the last days, there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

Even though these are the times we live, do not fear them. Fear the Lord and His commands. Fear the one who holds each soul within His power to save or condemn according to what we have done, good or evil. If you have faith in Jesus and follow Him with your life, open your eyes to the truth. You have nothing to fear, for the Lord holds you in the palm of His hand. His light shines upon your path to do and go here or there according to His will.

After this time of great trial, there will come another time when people will say, “peace and security,” yet it will not be good for the wicked. But for the righteous, there will be rejoicing and a new song for the bride of Christ. The Lord will fill our hearts with joy at His coming because our hope was never in what we could see but in what God has promised.

They lift up their voices, they sing for joy; over the majesty of the Lord, they shout from the west. Therefore, in the east, give glory to the Lord; in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. From the ends of the earth, we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One. Isaiah 24:14-16

But there will be fear and terror on every side for those who do evil and pursue it. They do not have any hope but can if they turn to Jesus. If they would repent for their sins and crimes against the Lord and follow and obey Him, He would give them salvation for their souls.

Terror and the pit and the snare are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth! He who flees at the sound of the terror shall fall into the pit, and he who climbs out of the pit shall be caught in the snare. For the windows of heaven are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble. Isaiah 24:17-18

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Isaiah 52:7

Don’t give up, but patiently endure to the end. This time must come, and it must continue until the end, according to the word of the Lord. Don’t be surprised; people will continue to go from bad to worse. But stay firm in your faith in the Lord. Spread the Gospel so that the Lord may save the lost through repentance. God will redeem those He has chosen, and the sun will break through upon the righteous. In the end, those who abandoned wickedness for what is holy will be filled with joy and rejoicing through all eternity.

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how, from childhood, you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:12-16
