As you walk on this journey following the Lord you will encounter many troubles. In this day of wickedness and wicked people you will have difficulties, there is no doubting that. Yes, this world and the people in it will go from bad to worse and they will demean, curse, and slander you, and those who walk in righteousness.
But our Lord has already won and has overcome the evil one. He has already seen the end from the beginning, and has struck the death blow to Satan.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel. Genesis 3:15
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Do not be worried or frightened of man and what they may do to you. God is in control. Trust in Him.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28
Though the Lord has overcome and has already won. You are still here under command of your Lord and King Jesus to labor in His fields. To bring His remaining sheep to Him. You must be prepared on all occasions to speak the truth. To speak the truth of the Gospel to all who seek you know the hope that is within you, even to those who don’t.
Keep on doing good and speaking the truth with gentleness, respect, and self control. Keep doing good to all those around you. Even if they speak or do evil to you, return good for their wrong. God will judge them and He will punish them for their wickedness in due time.
The Lord says you will be blessed in all circumstances. Whether it be here and now, in the future, or in the age to come. This is what is right and pleasing to the Lord.
1 Peter 3:14-18
14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 16 having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
