Troubles Will Come

As you walk on this journey called life, following your Lord Jesus, you will encounter many troubles. In these days of wickedness and wicked people, you will have many difficulties and persecution come against you. I have no doubt that they will come. Jesus said this would happen and Paul said that the world and the people in it will go from bad to worse.

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:12-13

They will demean, curse, and slander you just because it is in their nature. Especially to those who walk in the righteousness of the Lord. But your Lord has already won. He has overcome the evil one, and all those he commands. He has already seen the end from the beginning and has struck the death blow to Satan. Even though they are trying to cause as much damage as they can on the way out, their time is short.

Knowing is, in the midst of hardships, God is always with you, never leaves you, or forsakes you. He speaks to you in many ways, by way of encouragement, if you are willing to tune your senses to hear it. Do not be worried, be frightened of men, or what they may do to you. God is in control. Lean into Him and you will be rewarded for your good conduct no matter what they do.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

The Lord God has overcome and has already won the war. Rest in His comforting arms. He is still in command of all things. Nothing has changed. He calls you now to turn your focus upon the building of His Kingdom. To labor in His fields. To bring His remaining sheep to Him. You must be prepared on all occasions to speak the truth. To speak the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all, even if they seem to not listen.

Keep on doing good and speaking the truth with gentleness, respect, love, and self-control. Keep doing good to all those around you. Even if they speak or do evil to you, return good for their wrong. Remember that God will reward you in return.

He is ready to judge them and He will bring severe punishment against the wicked in due time. So keep in mind that the Lord says you will be blessed in all circumstances. Whether it be here, now, in the future, or in the age to come. This is what is right and pleasing to the Lord. Though you will have trouble He has overcome it all.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

For it is better to suffer for doing good if that should be God’s will than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 1 Peter 3:14-18
