Imagine you are standing before a judge being sentenced for a crime that you have committed! There are Ten pieces of evidence showing that you are guilty beyond any doubt! What are you to do? You can’t save yourself, your lawyer can’t do anything for you, and you have no one to help you.
You find out you will get LIFE in prison! You are terrified. But what if someone you don’t even know steps in the courtroom and walks up and talks to the judge. All of a sudden the judge says to you “This man has offered to take your place and take your punishment for you, will you accept it?” How would you react??
Did you know that someday you will die, you will stand before The Judge of the universe, God himself and He will judge you for every word, thought, deed, and motivation of your heart. He is more righteous, holy, and good then any judge on earth, more than can imagine. He will send you to either Heaven if you are found good, or Hell if found bad.
But are you a good person? Have you ever lied, stolen something that wasn’t yours, murdered (hated someone), committed adultery (lusted after someone), coveted others’ possessions, disobeyed your parent, or worshiped anything other than God? If you are honest you will realize you are a liar, a thief, an adulterer, a murderer, covetous, disobedient, an idolater and more. And when you stand before God on Judgment day you will be found guilty and sentenced to a horrible place called Hell for eternity, in torment. I would not want you to go there!
Does this concern you? Do you know what to do? Did you know that God sent his only son Jesus Christ to step into that courtroom and take your punishment for you? It is a free gift that God has provided for you. “For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.” “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
He took the whole Wrath of God on Himself for our sins, your sins. But there are a few important things you MUST do.
1. You must confess your sins to God. “let your joy turn to sadness and your laughter to gloom and humble yourself before the Lord” tell Him what you have done.
2. You must repent of your sin, that is turning away from your life of sin.
3. And put your complete faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
You are not guaranteed another moment, you may die today! What is more important than your eternal soul? Nothing! Seek God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and you will find Him.
Get a Bible and read it daily and obey what God tells you through His Word. You can start in the book of John. Let Him lead and guide you and He will make your path straight and call you His child and someday when you stand before God, He will bring you into His Heaven for all eternity.
