Depend Only On The Lord

Fear the Lord and let Him be your dread. Who is God? He is the One who watches over all the earth and sees every action, thought, and motivation of a man’s heart. He is the One who spreads His hands out and touches every point of our galaxy, even out to the end of the universe. He has created, occupied, and sees it all. He holds together every molecule and every atom. So why should you fear men who can do nothing in comparison?

And He said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come, and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” Revelation 14:7

Obey the Lord in all your ways. Fear Him and bow before the King of Glory. Do not fear what they fear; do not be worried or anxious about what the world fears. The wicked flee when no one pursues them. You are in the hands of the Lord. God gives you many promises that He will keep, for He does not lie nor break His Word. His Word is more dependable than the sunrise and more reliable than the seconds on the clock.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand Isaiah 41:10 The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1

Keep yourself from all wickedness and from being influenced by evil schemes. Resist them continually, seeking to do good in exchange for hatred. The devil is constantly looking for ways to pull your focus away from the Lord and from doing what is right. But the devil’s ways are like vomit; his enticements are like rotten fruit to those who feed off the goodness of the Lord. What the devil wants to give will always end with disaster. So do not follow his deception. It will lead to your ruin.

Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated. The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good. He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil. Psalm 36:1-4

Walk with the Lord day and night, continually in His sight and the uprightness of your heart. He will be your guide to keep your steps sure, with a firm foundation.

When you walk, your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble. Keep hold of instruction; do not let go; guard her, for she is your life. Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil. Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on. For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble. Proverbs 4:12-16

God will not let you slip. Instead, He will comfort and uphold you. Keep the security of your heart and soul in complete harmony with His own. He will give you peace through the storm. He is your strength, confidence, and assurance in the face of uncertainty. Seek Him and trust Him. He knows what He is doing with your life.

It may seem hopeless at times, but God works even in the silence of suffering and waiting. He can not lie, He can not fail, and He never makes a single mistake. Everything is allowed for a purpose, and nothing will go to waste. He will use each struggle for your training and purification. So trust and depend on Him. He will never be found unworthy. He will never fail to fulfill His promise.

For the Lord spoke thus to me with His strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: “Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread.

But the Lord of hosts, Him you shall honor as holy. Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. And He will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And many shall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.” Bind up the testimony; seal the teaching among my disciples. I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in Him. Isaiah 8:11-17
