The Lord Jesus Christ has made you more than a conqueror. He has given everything needed for you to be victorious in the battle against wickedness and temptation. Be sure of this very thing; He has made His power available to you at all times. He will continue to do so in every situation when your faith remains in Him. But I tell you, be careful and very aware because many temptations will come in these times of trouble. They will also come from those you do not expect and at unexpected times.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 1 Peter 4:12-14
Those who tempt others to sin and cause them to fall will pay a steep and high price for their sins. So pray for them that they may see the truth and repent. Jesus warns that it would be better for them to lose their lives than continue to cause His little ones to sin.
And He said to His disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” Luke 17:1-4
Face forward toward whatever comes your way. Have complete assurance and confidence in the Lord. When temptations come, resist, for they will come, you can be sure of that. Remember, the Lord will always make way for you to escape. He is the way of escape. The Holy Spirit who lives within you is the voice and the source of power to turn away and pursue righteousness and purity instead.
But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you. James 4:6-10
The Lord has already laid your path before you. It is straight, authentic, and will lead the way to life and reward in Christ. He goes before you to conquer the foe.
For who is God but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?— the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great. Psalms 18:31-35
He does not give you His armor, strength, or Word for nothing. He has equipped you for the fight, for the battle ahead. He has given you everything you need. He has made you His warrior of righteousness, His soldier of truth, and there will be nothing that comes against you that can sever you from His protection.
You must put on His armor. You must walk in His strength and the boldness of the Holy Spirit. Depend on the shield of faith as your defense and the Word of God as your offensive weapon. If you follow Him in every way, you will be more than a conqueror and victorious in every engagement. What I have stated is the Lord’s promise to you.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake, we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39
