The Lord Jesus Christ has made you more than a conqueror! He has given everything needed for you to be victorious in battle against wickedness, struggle, and temptation. Be sure of this very thing, He has made His power available to you at all times that you may overcome, and He will continue to do so in every situation.
But I tell you to be careful and very aware that many temptations will come in these times of trouble. They will also come from those and at times you do not expect.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 1 Peter 4:12-14
Those who tempt others to sin and cause them to fall will pay a steep and high price for their sins. Jesus warns them that it would be better if they died then for them to cause one of His little ones to sin.
And He said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.
Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” Luke 17:1-4
Face forward toward whatever comes your way and whatever is set before you with full assurance and confidence in the Lord. When temptations come, resist, be sure of this, the Lord has made a way to escape. He is the way of escape. The Holy Spirit who lives within you is the voice and the source of power to turn away and pursue righteousness and purity.
But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you. James 4:6-10
The Lord has already laid your path before you. It is straight, true, and will lead the way to life and reward in Christ. He goes before you to conquer the foe!
For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?— the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.
He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great. Psalms 18:31-35
He does not give you His armor, His strength, and His Word for nothing. He has equipped you for the fight, for the battle. He has given you everything you need. He has made you His warrior of righteousness, His soldier of truth, and there will be nothing that comes against you that can severe you from His protection.
You must put on His armor, you must walk in His strength and the boldness of the Holy Spirit. Depend on the shield of faith as your defense and the Word of God as your offensive weapon of truth. If you follow Him in every way, you will be more than a conqueror and victorious in every engagement. This is your promise from the Lord.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39
