Fan Into Flame Gods Gift

Fan into flame the gift God has given you. Have you been sitting by having received the gift of salvation from God our Savior Jesus Christ, having some knowledge of the gift, but is it still a spark or an ember? Blow it into flame, that which the Lord has given you. Pray that the Lord may stoke it into a full burning fire in your soul, that you may put your hands to work for the Kingdom of God.

You can not expect a fire to start itself, though sometimes it does happen by outside forces. But when you start a fire, all the elements must be present. For example, an ember must have fuel and air to set ablaze.

Before starting a fire, you must find good tinder, which must be dry. You will need flammable material, such as grass, leaves, and twigs. It is what will accept the ember and burst it into flames with the right amount of air. But also, you must have prepared a pile of wood sticks to add to the flames to help the fire grow slowly. You can add larger pieces of wood only after the fire has grown in strength and heat. Finally, after the fire roars, you may add any size of wood you desire.

Let’s apply this principle to the growth of a Christian. To begin, you must repent and be changed by the Holy Spirit to receive the ember of the Lord in your soul. Once that happens, you must pray and feed on God’s Word, igniting the ember into a flame. Then, gradually, God will grow the flame in your soul so you can accept more and more healing and refinement. In this way, He develops your gift in small ways, building you on His foundation and increasing your confidence, strength, and abilities for His purposes.

As the flame in your soul gains heat and height, the fire of your soul will be able to accept greater and weightier knowledge and wisdom God wants to give you until your fire for the Lord is roaring hot and well-established. You, then, are willing to do anything for the sake of Christ and the Gospel.

Like the example of building a fire, it takes time to grow. Little by little, by seeking the Lord in all your ways, God will help you become more like Him. Your gifts will grow with increased understanding, skill, and experience. Then, you will be able to accept more understanding from the Father, like adding full-sized pieces of wood to a fire. I praise God that He grows His children slowly so we are not overwhelmed by what might put out our fire.

I hope you see that growing in the Lord takes time and patience. Just as with the gift God has given you, you must first search it out to know what it is and then work on it to understand how to function in the gift according to God’s will. Then, after time has passed by working slowly, you will glow brightly for the Kingdom of God, working hard to help others according to the will of the Father.

Always remember that the Lord’s work takes time and hard work. So break up the small sticks of fear, anxiety, worry, and doubt, throwing them into the fire. Then, move forward by faith in Jesus Christ. It will require you to burn for hours, devoting yourself to the Word of God, practicing, praying, and finding opportunities to refine each one to expand and grow.

So even if it seems you have been working long, remember He knows the right way you must go to fulfill His will. Have no doubt God will develop your abilities and the Spirit within to accomplish His plan. He understands what is best, so trust Him and His ways.

For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me, His prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of His own purpose and grace, which He gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,

and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.

Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. 2 Timothy 2:6-14
