Destined For Greatness

You may often find yourself in a place of worry, doubt, and fear of the future. You may fear the unknown, wondering when or how the Lord will fulfill His promises. Be sure that the Lord always does as He has declared or promised. He never fails to answer those who seek His face and heart.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

At times it may feel that the walls are closing in. The darkness of uncertainty seems to envelop everything around you. What you have heard, known, and believed from the Lord seems like a distant memory. You may not be able to see the way out. But the Lord is always there. His purpose for these trials is to grow your faith, and He will guide you onto solid ground.

Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction that your promise gives me life. The insolent utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from your law. Psalm 119:49-51

But all of this worry, fear, uncertainty, and doubt are not from the Lord but from the enemy. It is all a device of wickedness from the devil and his minions. They long to destroy, distract, and derail the Lord’s purpose for you. They sneak and slither in when no one is looking. Unbeknownst to you, they seek to deceive, distract, and divert your course.

Do not listen, and do not follow them down the path they intend to lead. Do not doubt the Lord for one minute. He is in complete control. He will accomplish every promise, plan, and purpose for your life, and you will come out stronger in faith than before. No one nor anything will ever outsmart His infinite wisdom.

The LORD of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand, that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains trample him underfoot, and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden from their shoulder.”

This is the purpose that is purposed concerning the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations. For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back? Isaiah 14:24-27

You can put your hope and trust in the Lord, who uses the devil’s attacks to strengthen, stretch, encourage, and enhance your abilities and talents. The Lord gave you those faculties to defeat the devil, to trample his wicked mechanisms into the dirt.

The ironic part about the life, struggles, and journey of the follower of Jesus Christ is; that the longer you walk with the Lord, the harder and more furious the devil will attack. The more fierce the devil’s attack, the stronger and more determined you become to walk in the holiness and purity of the Lord. The more holy your walk, the more you can function in the power of the Holy Spirit, and you become more effective in following the will of God.

The more effectively you walk in the power of the Spirit, the boldness of your faith will save more souls. The bolder you are in your faith, the more the devil’s plans will be devastated. The devil thought he was harming you with his attacks, but the result of your faith backfired and helped you work more effectively for the Kingdom of God.

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good. Genesis 50:20

The devil is the one who actually gets the short end of the stick. The more he tries to take down the true believer, the more he is a failure, and the more his kingdom is demolished by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the testimony of the Christian to transfer the lost soul from death to life.

Remember that God is always with you. He has been and is always doing and allowing things in your life for your good and growth in the Spirit of the Lord. These things needed to happen to fulfill His promises, plan, and purposes for you and in the lives of others.

And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:23

God could never give you what you were not ready to receive. He could never have allowed the great responsibility He intended for you to be put into your hands until He purged your imperfections. He would only release you to the purpose He made for your life once you had completed your training. You could have only forged forward in the Spirit of the Lord once you had found the pearls of wisdom that only come from swimming through the ocean of afflictions.

For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

So do not worry about what you can not see or understand. Refrain from fretting about what is, was, or is to come. It is about increasing your faith and reliance on God, faith that God is at work, and faith that He holds the future. Faith that He who walked on water can also calm it with a word. Faith in the God who, with one word, created the heavens and earth and with one word, will put you in the place He has been preparing for you from the foundation of the world.

He will make a way where there seems to be no way. But He has already made that way and decreed, declared, and established it in the heavens. Nothing can change or remove what He has inaugurated.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The wild beasts will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches, for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise. Isaiah 43:19
