Most Importantly

What is the most important thing in this entire world? That one thing that can make a difference that could change the world could cause a person to go from living in darkness to light. What is the one thing that could save a person from going down the wrong road? That could unite two enemy nations and even save the entire world from destruction.

It is definitely not hatred, mockery, divisiveness, nastiness, name-calling, crude comments, obscene posts, or ridiculing behaviors. It is quite simple. It is God’s love. Love can change a relationship. Love can change the heart of an enemy. Love can move an entire people to do what is right instead of doing what is wrong.

Jesus said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. ’This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

Yes, God’s love is powerful. Who does not want to be loved? The biggest desire in the human heart is to be loved. But it is not just any love that will change the world. It is God’s love. But if this is truly the heart desire of everyone, why doesn’t the world come together and love one another? We can find the answer in the Word of God.

But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear. They made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore great anger came from the LORD of hosts. “As I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear,” says the LORD of hosts, Zechariah 7:11-13

Do not be like the world or those who seek to rule the world in wickedness instead of love. But seek to love one another as God has loved mankind.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love. 1 John 4:7-8

What keeps you from loving others? First, your sin causes a separation from God; because of this, He can not tolerate wickedness since sin breaks His Law like a criminal. So how can you love others without His love?

Questions may arise in your mind. “I am not a sinner, am I?” “What sins have I committed that separate me from God, and how can I be united with God to give and receive love?” “How can I be someone who can make a change for good instead of tearing others down?” Let us look into the Word of God, the Bible, and let God tell you the answers to these critical questions.

And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Worship only God)

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God.” (Idolatry)

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.” (Blasphemy)

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Day of rest). “Honor your father and your mother” (Obey). “You shall not murder.” (Hatred) “You shall not commit adultery.” (Lust) “You shall not steal.” (Theft) “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” (Lie) “You shall not covet” (Envy) Exodus 20:1-5, 7-8, 12-17

God has declared that all men should obey His commandments. Don’t feel like you are alone in this. Everyone on earth is in the same predicament. We are all sinners in need of forgiveness from God. We all need Jesus to save us from sin and the judgment to come that comes through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23

But God, being rich in mercy because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-5

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son(Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” John 3:16-18

Do you see it now? Jesus is the Son of God. He came to this earth, suffered, and died for all our sins. He was the perfect sacrifice to pay the punishment you deserve because He is perfect and sinless.

Because you disobeyed His laws through your sinful lifestyle, you have piled up judgment for yourself. Someone will have to pay for them. Either you will, or you can allow Jesus to pay your debt to God. Jesus will pay your debt of sin you owe if you are willing to accept it on your account. It is your choice, but you must turn away from your sins in repentance and follow and obey Jesus Christ.

He is holding out His hands to you. He is standing in the courtroom of Heaven, waiting to set you free, pleading with you to turn from your sinful ways. He loves you so much that He was willing to give up Heaven to suffer, die, be buried, and then rise again to save your soul. He defeated sin and death for you. Yes, He loves you that much. Do you see that? You were His enemy because of your rebellion, but God loved you so much that He died for your sins.

What He asks of you now is to repent of your sins. To turn from your sinful ways and follow and obey Him in everything you do. To live your life no longer to satisfy your desires but to do good, in Jesus’ name. To obey His commands and lead others to salvation through His name. To walk in the Spirit of the Lord and sin no more.

He wants to love you, show you how to love others, and unite friends and enemies. Love is what is most important. To come to Jesus Christ to receive His everlasting love through the forgiveness of your sins, then give that love back to others so God can change their eternity too.

“Today is the day of Salvation,” says the Lord Turn from your sin, repent, and follow Jesus Christ as your savior.
