Most Importantly

What is the most important thing in this entire world? The most important action, word, feeling, emotion, or motivation that you can think of. That one thing that can make a difference, that could change the world, that could cause a person to go from living in darkness to light.

What is the one thing that could save a person from going down the wrong road? That could bring two enemy nations together in unity, even save the entire world from destruction.

What is this one thing that could do all of that? It is most definitely not what the world is showing us in this age. It is not hatred, mockery, divisiveness, nastiness, name-calling, crude comments, obscene posts, or ridiculing behaviors. It is quite simple. It is Love. Love can change a relationship. Love can change the heart of an enemy. Love can move an entire people to do what is right instead of doing what is wrong.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly. Proverbs 15:1-2

Jesus said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. ’This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

Love can save a nation and the whole world. Yes, it is that powerful. Who does not want to be loved? This is the biggest desire in the heart of mankind, to be loved. It is not just any love that will change the world. It is God’s love.

But if this is truly the heart desire of everyone, why don’t we see people coming together and loving one another? In truth, what we see today is hatred and scorn for each other. Why? The answer is found in the Word of God.

But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear. They made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore great anger came from the LORD of hosts. “As I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear,” says the LORD of hosts, Zechariah 7:11-13

Do not be like the world or those who seek to rule the world in wickedness. But seek to love one another as God has commanded mankind.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:7-8

What keeps you from loving others? It is your sin that keeps you from loving and because of your sins you are separated from God. If you are separated from God how then can you have love to give to others?

Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or His ear dull, that it cannot hear, but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. Isaiah 59:2

New questions are arising in your mind. I am not a sinner, am I? What sins have I committed that separate me from God and how can I be united with God so that I can give and receive love? How can I be someone who can make a change for good instead of tearing them down? Let us look into the Word of God, the Bible, and let God tell you the answers to these most important questions.

And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Worship only God)

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God.” (Idolatry)

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.” (Blasphemy)

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Day of rest) “Honor your father and your mother,” (Obey) “You shall not murder.” (Hatred) “You shall not commit adultery.” (Lust) “You shall not steal.” (Theft) “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” (Lie) “You shall not covet” (Envy) Exodus 20:1-5, 7-8, 12-17

This is the Law of God, the Ten Commandments. He has declared that all men should obey His commandments. Don’t feel like you are alone in this. Everyone on earth is in the same predicament. We are all sinners in need of forgiveness from God. We all need Jesus to save us from sin and the Judgment to come. Except for those who have received the gift of God that redeemed them from their sins. Salvation through the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-5

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son(Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” John 3:16-18

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display His perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in Him for eternal life. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:15-17

Do you see it now? Jesus is the Son of God. He came to this earth, suffered, and died for all of our sins, your sins, and mine. He was the perfect sacrifice to pay the punishment you deserve because He is perfect and sinless.

Because of your disobedience to His laws, and the sins you have committed, you have piled up judgment for yourself. Someone will have to pay for them. Either you will or you can allow Jesus to pay your debt to God. Jesus took your punishment and paid the debt you owe if you are willing to accept it on your account. It is your choice, but you have to choose and turn from sin to follow Him.

He is holding out His hands to you. He is standing in the courtroom of Heaven waiting to set you free. Pleading with you to turn from your sinful ways. He loves you so much that He was willing to give up heaven to suffer, die, be buried, and then rise again to save your soul. He defeated sin and death for you. Yes, He loves you that much. This is the love of God.

What He asks of you now is to repent of your sins. To turn from your sinful ways and to follow and obey Him in everything that you do. To live your life no longer for the satisfaction of your own desires but to do good, in Jesus’ name. To obey His commands and lead others to salvation through His name. To walk in the Spirit of the Lord and sin no more.

He wants to love you and show you how to love others. To unite friends and enemies alike. He wants to unite kingdoms, nations, and the whole world with His love. Love is only given through God, through Jesus Christ.

This is what is of the utmost importance. To receive love and salvation from God, so that you in turn can give love to others. To come to Jesus Christ to receive His everlasting love, to receive eternal life through the forgiveness of your sins. Then to give to others what you have been given.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God;

to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:1-3

“Today is the day of Salvation,” says the Lord Turn from your sin, repent, and follow Jesus Christ as your savior.
