The sirens are blaring, the alarms have been sounded, and the lights are flashing to get your attention. You are being alerted, warned of great danger to come. Are you paying attention? Are you listening? Do you see the danger? Are you aware of what you have been warned of?
The fires are raging, the heat is building, and the flames are getting dangerously close. A call has gone out to all mankind. Do you know what it is? Has it caused fear to build up within you? Will you try to run for help or will you face it on your own?
It is not what you think it is. It is not the natural thing of this world. It is not the climate, earthquakes, hurricanes, or even the inner fire of humanity against each other in hate, divide, strife, and murder that is the problem. Though those are serious symptoms that come from the root of the problem.
There is one universal fear that drives all mankind and another that has caused this fear. It is the fear of death and the one thing that leads to death is sin. Did you know this?
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
Listen closely to what I have to say. This is the warning and alarm that is being sounded. You must listen. Do you know where you will go when you die? Will it be Heaven or Hell. Many have been taught by religion that those who are good enough will go to heaven. Perhaps by outweighing their bad by the good they do.
Perhaps you believe this but you have been such a horrible sinner in the past you just have no hope left. You want to change and have a new life, but you think you are too far gone.
I am here to tell you there is hope. So keep reading.
Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, Ephesians 1:18
Are you good enough for Heaven or should you be afraid of Hell? Do you know there is a way to test yourself? Did you know that there is an escape route? There is hope and a way out if you are willing to listen and obey. Let us look into this and see if you are good enough.
How many lies have you told in your life? What would you call someone who tells lies? You would call them liars, of course. Have you ever stolen anything? Regardless of the value of the things that were taken, it is stealing. The truth is you would be a lying thief. Seems like a pretty serious accusation. But judge yourself and be honest about what is true.
Honesty is the beginning to find the way out.
Have you ever coveted something that was not your own? Have you ever taken God’s name in vain? These are just a few of the Commandments God has given us to follow. You may have heard of them referred to as the Ten Commandments.
Have you ever hated anyone or looked at someone with lust?
Jesus said, “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.” Matthew 5:21-22
Jesus also said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:27-28
You may not have realized this before but you have broken God’s Law. He sees you as a lawbreaker at this moment, a criminal because of your lying, stealing, coveting, blasphemous, murdering, adulterous heart. Don’t stop reading because as I said, “there is hope.”
But the truth is that God has warned all mankind that because of their sins there is punishment to come. That there is a terrible place called Hell where He sends those who are guilty of sin. Have you judged yourself and found that you would be guilty?
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. Revelation 21:8
It is 100% guaranteed that you will die someday. You will have to stand before the Lord and be judged for everything you have done, in word, thought, and deed.
“For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,“ Romans 3:23
Wow, that is very frightening once you think about it. I hope that the sirens in your soul are now starting to blare loudly. Turning your attention to the warnings. I do not want you to Hell. This is why I am warning you about the sins you have committed against God.
It is loving to warn someone of danger. You are in danger!
Will He find you innocent or guilty? Will He have to send you to Heaven or Hell? Listen, these are serious and piercing questions. But they are questions that you must ask yourself.
“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him.“ Hebrews 9:27
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is Eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23
Do not fear or be in dread, there is hope. Because God has made a way that you can be saved. That you may be forgiven of your sins.
“But God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” John 3:16
This is God’s Word and He does not lie.
God sent His son, Jesus Christ to the earth to live a perfect life. That He might be a perfect sacrifice to pay for your sins. For all the sins of the world. To all those who would put their faith and hope in Him.
He intentionally; for you and me went to the cross, was beaten, whipped, scourged, suffered, died, and took the complete Wrath of God that we all deserve. He was buried and three days later by the power of God was raised to life. He defeated sin and death for all time.
He did this wonderful and loving thing for you. Yes, for you, because He cares for your soul. Jesus Christ loves you more than you can imagine. He is not like men or women, with very limited love. He is love.
Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to His own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6
You do not need to fear death if you give yourself to Jesus. If you turn from all your many sins and wicked way of living, He will save you. If you repent, turning away from sin, and turn to Him. He commands all men to turn from wickedness, follow, and obey Him. Then He promises that He will forgive, renew, and restore you to what you were always meant to be, God’s child.
Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent, because He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom He has appointed; and of this He has given assurance to all by raising Him from the dead.” Acts 17:29-31
God offers you forgiveness. Right now God offers you life and salvation. He offers it to you as a free gift. But what you must do is confess your many sins to Him and not man. Again, repent and turn completely to Jesus, for He is your only hope.
Completely and totally putting your trust and faith in Him who can save you from Hell. What is more important than your eternal soul?
These pleasures and earthly moments of enjoyment are so short and fleeting. Who hasn’t said, “seems like just yesterday…” How they drift away and are blown like the dust of the air. How they wither so quickly like a flower in the heat of the sun.
If you have read this far, maybe it is for a purpose. Have you been seeking hope? Here it is, right in front of you.
I plead with you to consider carefully your life. Consider how short it is and Eternity, how long it is. Consider the punishment of sin and the hope I have given you today through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Do not look back at this time, when it is too late, and regret that you did not heed the loud warning. That you closed your eyes to the flashing lights. That to stuffed up your ears so you would not hear the blaring sirens. Repent and turn to Jesus Christ as your Savior from sin and death.
For He says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
Now is the day of salvation. Now is the time you are being warned of what is to come. Remember, you are not promised another moment, over 150,000 people die each day. Please cry out to God that He may open your eyes to see, your heart to feel, and your ears to hear. Pay attention to the warning.
Turn to Jesus, seek Him with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul. He promises that if you do, You will find Him.
Find a Bible and start reading in the book of John. Fall on your knees and cry out to Him to save you. Pray to Him from the heart. He will hear you.
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Corinthians 7:14
