Jesus The Bread Of Life

Jesus Christ is the Word of God, He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the bread and the drink sent down by the Father that you may live. He is not physical food or drink as some had thought He meant but is spiritual food and drink.

Jesus said, “Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” John 6:56-58

It wasn’t only that He came and suffered for you physically, it was that He suffered spiritually that paid the price required for your life. He is the real and spiritual sustenance that every person on this planet needs to feed upon to live in the Spirit and live to eternal life.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. John 6:63

Without Him, you will die and die for all eternity. Without the Bread of Life, Jesus, you will starve to death. I am not speaking about your physical body, but your spirit. Your spirit is who you are, how you think, make decisions, and live and breathe.

I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 1 Corinthians 15:50-53

It is through your daily feeding on the Word of God by reading the Bible that feeds your soul. It is also by staying connected to God through constant prayer and devotion to Him, seeking His face. This is what gives life to your soul. In Him and through Him you live, move, and are guided in this wicked generation.

For “‘In Him, we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed His offspring.’ Acts 17:28

The Word of God is like food to the soul and prayer and communion with God is like breath to the spirit. If you do not eat you will starve and if you do not breathe you will suffocate. Forget or refuse to do these things daily and you will starve and suffocate to the deception, depression, and wickedness of this world.

You will fall victim to the deception and pleasure of the devil that leads only to death. Don’t give up on what the Lord has promised and the call He has given you. Don’t give in to the false ways of this world. Always remember who you serve, who you follow.

The one and only God Almighty, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who rules and reigns over all things! He will sustain you.

Peter said it best, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

Stay faithful and never let your trust in the Lord waver. Repent to Jesus of your sins and turn to Him in obedience.

Even when you want to give up when you want to quit when you are ready to throw in the towel and surrender. God is with you and He will not let you go. He will not allow you to fail if your faith is in Him.

He is waiting for you. His love is for you. He will not leave you and will never forsake you. But you must turn from your sinful ways and believe, follow, and obey Him.

When many of His disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” And Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray Him.) And He said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted Him by the Father.”

After this many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:60-69

Will you also turn away from Jesus? Or will you believe in Him with all your soul, mind, heart, and strength?
