The Lord says, “Comfort my people, Comfort.” He will comfort His children even through this life’s turmoil, hardship, pressing, and strife. So do not worry, fret, or be anxious but rest in the Lord your God. Look to your fathers in the faith, those who have come before you. Look to the confidence of Abraham, David, Daniel, Isaiah, and many more.
Abraham left a familiar and comfortable home for a foreign land they knew not. David faced a giant with no fear because he trusted God. Daniel sat with lions all night and was not touched. He completely trusted in the Lord. Isaiah spoke the truth to an entire nation against him, yet he was not afraid of the consequences. They believed in God for who He was, what He had said, and what He would do. They had complete trust in Him, who could provide, lead, direct, and protect them. It was faith.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
So I tell you to trust His righteous ways, plan, and purpose. Because He will do as He has said, He will fulfill it all. You may have a legitimate doubt if a man says something. But your God can not lie. All He declares is true. You can count on Him completely. Have faith.
God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it? Numbers 23:19
He is not slow to answer or wrong by taking so long. He is always correct. He is always on time. This world will pass away, and the people will go as well. But you can trust the Lord is in complete control. He is completely sovereign. Trust in Him.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
Rest in Him the word He has spoken. Rest in His arms, do not forget what He has promised, and live in His peace and comfort, knowing you are secure in Him.
Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:3-6
I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it so that people fear before Him. That which is already has been; that which is to be already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away. Ecclesiastes 3:14-15
Walk with firm faith in the light of His presence. May your joy and gladness be found in Him, a peace that passes all understanding. Such that the world knows not, may they see it and wonder what it is all about. Giving you the opportunity you share with them the truth of your Lord. If you have nothing else in this world, have faith in God, this is what pleases Him.
“Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the Lord: look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug. Look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for he was but one when I called him, that I might bless him and multiply him. For the Lord comforts Zion; He comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.
“Give attention to me, my people, and give ear to me, my nation; for a law will go out from me, and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples. My righteousness draws near, my salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands hope for me, and for my arm, they wait.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and they who dwell in it will die in like manner, but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will never be dismayed. Isaiah 51:1-6
