Commit Yourself To God

When things look bleak, you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, and you feel as if the Lord has abandoned you. Commit yourself to the Lord. What are you to do? Who will save you? Who can you trust? You can trust the Lord, remembering His promise. “I will never leave you.”

Trust in the Lord and trust Him only. He will answer. He will take care of you. He will comfort, instruct, heal, and restore. Only wait upon Him for His timing, plan, and will. His purposes are perfect, though His plan to get there may be long and difficult.

For you save a humble people, but the haughty eyes you bring down. For it is you who light my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness. For by you, I can run against a troop, and by my God, I can leap over a wall. This God—His way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him. Psalm 18:27-30

Trust in the creator of the Universe, who laid the earth’s foundations. He who formed and placed every star in its place and wrapped them all up in an envelope of perfection. The one who formed you in your mother’s womb. The one who designed and crafted you in the perfectness of His marvelous plan, purpose, and will for your life. He decreed and declared your future before there was a past.

And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:16

What does He want you to do? Where does He want you to go? Why does He allow so much pain, suffering, and persecution? How long will be long enough? For you to suffer in this prison cell of agony and waiting. He knows, and He has a great purpose for it all. Every second is part of His plan for your good.

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday. Psalm 37:3-6

Commit your ways to Him, your plans, work, family, mind, Spirit, and soul. Pray continually and obey His laws and precepts. Ask for His wisdom and patience in all your decisions. It is not about your comfort or pleasure that He is concerned about. It is for your spiritual growth. Your complete and utter devotion to Him, trusting in absolute faith that He will accomplish everything for you as He has planned.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8

Turn from all evil and do what is pleasant in the eyes of the Lord. Put far away from your lips and heart anything arrogant, haughty, prideful, and malicious. Instead, wrap yourself in righteousness and the holiness of the Lord. Walk in the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of your own flesh.

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season, we will reap if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:7-10

In this journey of life God has put you on, you will have trouble. It has been guaranteed by the Lord Jesus Himself. But He is with you.

Jesus said, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Be not afraid nor doubt His love or plan. He has overcome this world. He knows what is best, and His promises are still true. What you are in need of is faith in Him. Though the outcome is unclear, believe that He is in control and will work everything out for your good. Everything has been designed for His ultimate glory and your benefit. You need to follow and obey Him by faith.

The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked, for the day of trouble. Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the LORD; be assured, he will not go unpunished.

By steadfast love and faithfulness, iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the LORD, one turns away from evil. When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice. The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:1-9
