You may have heard of the creature described in the Bible called Leviathan; many believe it is a dragon. If so, it was at one time the most ferocious and feared animal on the planet. Since so much folklore from almost every ancient society describes dragons, we can surmise that this creature actually lived and walked on the earth, and people were careful not to cross one.
No one in their right mind would ever try to attack it, lay their hands upon it, or even disturb it. You would be in utter horror if you were face to face with the Leviathan. Let alone a fearful mess if it was to come after you.
“Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook or press down his tongue with a cord? Can you put a rope in his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook? Will he make many pleas to you? Will he speak to you soft words? Will he make a covenant with you to take him for your servant forever?
Will you play with him as with a bird, or will you put him on a leash for your girls? Will traders bargain over him? Will they divide him up among the merchants? Can you fill his skin with harpoons or his head with fishing spears? Lay your hands on him; remember the battle—you will not do it again!” Job 41:1-8
So also, who can compare to the Almighty God? The Creator of the Universe. Who is there who would dare wrestle with Him? Who would dare rise up and think to be His match? Man is no match for the Lord because he is weak, small, and feeble compared to Him. Yet, man is like the fool who grabs the tail of a ferocious dragon and says to it “heel” and expects it to obey.
God gives you commands, laws, and rules to live by for your good, so you may not sin against Him because He punishes the disobedient. But many are foolish and rebellious anyway. They raise their tiny fists to Him and say, “No, I will not! I will do what I want”! This to their demise. Don’t be like them.
Even many in the church who say they follow Him, who worship Him, and praise Him with their lips do not listen and obey. But every day, knowing His rules and commands, they defy Him, sin, and do as they wish.
They go from their place of worship with hearts filled with lust, greed, hatred, gossip, and slander to do as they desire. Don’t be like them because they are like a fool that refuses the warnings to avoid the dragon; he does not listen. But instead, he goes out directly, grabs it by the whiskers, and suffers the consequences.
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable.” Isaiah 40:28
I am the LORD, and there is no other besides me; there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the LORD, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things. Isaiah 45:5-7
Do you not know that the Lord sees everything you do, even what is in your mind and your heart? You don’t have control over your next breath, but He controls everything.
Come to the Lord with a humble and repentant heart, and realize your position before Him. You are just a sinner, a criminal who has broken His Laws. If you do not repent, you will one day stand under His judgment and be punished. So turn from your sinful ways. He is calling you to repentance, to turn away from your life of sin. To follow and obey Jesus, who died for you. God will not tolerate a prideful and arrogant heart.
Would you not lay hold of a dragon’s tail and command it like a fool? Why would you think you can tell God what to do on judgment day? Humble yourself by taking a position with God against yourself, agreeing with Him that you have sinned. Look at yourself with honesty and truth that you are wrong and that God is right.
He is waiting for you to come to Jesus Christ and repent. He will forgive. He will have mercy on those who seek Him with all their heart. Please do this before it is too late before your own foolishness gets the best of you.
Behold, the hope of a man is false; he is laid low even at the sight of him. No one is so fierce that he dares to stir him(Leviathan) up. Who then is he who can stand before Me(God)? Who has first given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine. Job 41:9-11
Amen God bless you abundantly brother 🙏
