Do you desire to know what to do, where to go, and how to do it? Do you want to speak the truth? Do you want your words to give life and not death?
Then you need to get into the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to move through you. Open the book, dig in, and let your fingers do the walking and the Master do the talking.
Be not anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Matthew 10:19-20
It is from constant soaking in the Word of God, loving and learning the commandments of God, and studying the precepts of God that will teach you the right thing to do. Do not depend on your own intellect, smarts, or understanding. That will lead you down the path of fleshly learning, legalism, and pride.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7
But, of great importance is the Spirit of God. He is the one who will give you an understanding. It is Him who does the real work. Without the instruction and guidance of the Spirit of God, you will be like a chimp trying to engineer a skyscraper. It’s not going to happen.
Commit yourself to the Lord, seek His guidance, desire His truth, and long for His instruction. He will send the Helper to you and give you the understanding you are seeking.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD.
Then the words of your mouth will be true, the motivation of your heart will be pure, the direction of your feet will be straight, and the confidence of your mind will be sure. It is all because your desire was for the Lord continually and the longing of your heart was for the Holy Spirit to be your teacher.
Let your steadfast love come to me, O Lord, your salvation according to your promise;
then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word? And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in your rules.
I will keep your law continually, forever and ever, and I shall walk in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts.
I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame, for I find my delight in your commandments, which I love.
I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes. Psalm 119:41-48
