The Gift of Greatest Importance

Oh, what a wonderful, giving, and loving God we serve. He longs to give His beloved children good gifts. He is such a good good Father. Giving us the right as His child to go boldly to His throne room, to the throne of grace, to make our every request known to Him.

He says, “I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Throughout scripture, you are instructed to ask, pray, and let your requests be known unto God. What should you ask for above anything else? But for the indwelling and power of the Holy Spirit. What is of more importance than to receive, walk, and live in the Spirit of God? The answer is nothing is more important. Everything else that you need will follow if you give everything to Him. If you worship and serve the Lord in Spirit and Truth.

But the hour is coming and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24

Will He refuse? Will He deny His loved ones the gift that is of the greatest importance to His children? No, He will answer and He will give. Ask from a pure heart and not from your own passions or desires. He will give you what you ask according to His will.

How are you to know the right thing to do or where to go without the leading and guidance of His Spirit? He will never lead you astray for He is faithful and true. He will always seek out the one who is willing to lay down it all for Him. The one that will say, “here I am, send me.”

Your loving Father is holding out His hands to you waiting for you to drop everything else and run to Him. Give everything over to Him with open hands and an open and willing heart. There is nothing more important to the Lord than the faithful servant that truly desires to lose everything in this world in exchange for His. To do as He commands.

And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:9-13
