Oh, how great the love of the Lord is for you. Higher than the mightiest mountain, fuller than the boundless ocean, and wider than the bluest sky is God’s love for you. Brighter than the most brilliant star and greater than all the elements of the universe put together. So great is His love for you it is impossible to put it into words.
God knew you before you were born. He has recorded every detail of your life. Every day and moment has been written in His book from the foundation of the world. He knew all these things before He formed you in your mother’s womb. His concern, care, and love for you are so incredible.
If you could truly see and understand the level of His love and care for your very soul it would make you fall to your knees before Him. Your life is precious to Him. He desires for you to draw ever closer to Him. To believe everything He tells you. To follow and obey Him in all your ways. He does not want any of His precious children to wander away.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you. Psalm 139:13-18
That is why He disciplines those He loves, chastises His loved ones, and corrects your ways. He does this so that you may turn to Him for forgiveness and walk in His ways. There is a great reward for obedience. This is so that you may suffer fewer consequences for your sins and be loved even more by His grace and mercy. He so much desires to pour out His blessing upon you, but you must be ready for them. He desires you to be like Him, pure, holy, and righteous.
Those who follow and obey His commands will love without end, care without boundary, give without return, speak the truth without hesitation, and forgive without delay. They will show mercy without restraint, show kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, patience, and self-control without holding back.
Do not listen to the words of the backbiters, the actions of the deceivers, the whispering of the liars, or the buffoonery of the arrogant. But look and examine the evidence of a life lived in integrity, honesty, truthfulness, and holiness with a single-minded eye.
Your example is Jesus Christ. Not only will you see the evidence of those who walk in uprightness, but you will also see the evidence of those who walk in wickedness. A tree is known for its fruits, either it is good or it is bad. Many may look good on the outside, but the taste is unmistakable.
And the Lord said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless,” Genesis 17:1
