Do you know who you are really following? If you are not careful you may find yourself following the blind. A multitude of religions teach things that are not of God. They hold to all kinds of traditions, rituals, doctrines, and ideology that makes people blind to the truth.
If you follow the ways of man, you are following the blind, which may cause blindness on your own account. Nothing good comes from the blind leading the blind.
He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they, not both fall into a pit? Luke 6:39
Do not listen to the teachings of the religious and self-righteous. Who break the laws of the Lord for the sake of the ideas, traditions, and laws of men. Who preach but do not practice the ways of the Lord. Do not be like them? Look closely at yourself to see if you are like them.
Jesus answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’
But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God. You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” Matthew 15:3-9
Be very careful that you are not following those who are spiritually blind, leading many to destruction. They will lead you down a disastrous road. Only God and His Holy Spirit can lead you down the narrow path, the right path. To light the trail that leads to righteousness and holiness in the Lord. The road to life in Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:6-7
If you have not realized this yet, we are in the last days, the days when there is a famine upon the land. Not a famine of food or drink. But a famine of hearing and understanding God’s words. From following Him in spirit and truth.
Many think that they know what God is saying. They have become confident that they have figured it all out. But I assure you many are dead wrong. This is in fact, a famine of hearing from the Spirit of the Lord. No blind person can see clearly to understand God’s Word without the Spirit first opening their eyes.
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord GOD, “when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, to seek the word of the LORD, but they shall not find it. Amos 8:11-12
Yes, the problem is they do not walk in the Spirit of the Lord. They reject what the Lord says and listen to what men say. Because what they hear from His true servants, sounds like foolishness. Yet there is no end to the multitude of religious teachers and those who follow them. There are more than ever before.
There is no end to preachers and teachers making speech after speech and sermon after sermon, but falling far from the mark. They are just as accurate as a blindfolded man shooting arrow after arrow in any direction he chooses.
They boast in their knowledge and pretend that they are the authority on His Word. They teach by their own wisdom and understanding. As well as they copy what others have thought, written, or said instead of listening to the Lord Himself.
Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions. 1 Timothy 1:6-7
Beware of them! Keep watch for their ways and words. It is their fruit that will give them away. It is their deeds that will open the veil to the truth of who they really are. Do they practice what they preach?
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. Matthew 7:15-20
This is why the Lord says, “Seek the Lord God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.” That you may know what are the good and right ways to follow.
Cry out to the Lord that He may give you eyes to see, ears that hear, a mind that understands, and a heart that turns and repents of all sin.
The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. 2 Chronicles 15:2
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, Jeremiah 29:12-14
“Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6-7
If you seek Jesus Christ and to be filled with the Spirit of the Lord that gives sight, you will not be led astray by the blind. You will not fall headlong into a pit as those blind teachers will. Many will believe what is false because of the blind leading the blind. But may that not be you.
“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred? And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.’ You blind men!
For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.” Matthew 23:16-22
