Everyone is following something or someone. What you determine to follow can be the difference between life and death, Heaven or Hell. Do you know who you are following? Beware those who hold to traditions, rituals, and ideology that makes people blind to the truth. If you follow man’s ways, you are following the blind, which may lead to falling over the cliffs of deception. Nothing good comes from someone who is blind.
If you are not careful, you may follow many of these religious teachers who teach things, not of God. They will lead you down the wrong path, which leads all who follow to their demise.
He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? Luke 6:39
Do not listen to the teachings of the religious and self-righteous. Who break the laws of the Lord for the sake of the ideas, traditions, and rules of men. Who preach but do not practice the ways of the Lord. Do not be like them. Take some time and evaluate them according to what God teaches. Then, follow God with everything within you, and He will lead you the right way.
Jesus answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’
But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition, you have made void the word of God. You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said: “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” Matthew 15:3-9
Be very careful that you are not following those who are spiritually blind, leading many to destruction. They will lead you down a disastrous road. Only God and His Holy Spirit can lead you down the narrow path, the right way that leads to life, righteousness, and holiness in the Lord. Jesus Christ is the only one you should be following. He is the road that leads to life.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:6-7
We are in the last days when there is a famine upon the land. Not a famine of food or drink. But a famine of hearing and understanding what God is trying to tell us, a famine of repenting and turning to the Lord.
Many think that they know what God is saying. They have become confident that they have figured it all out. But I assure you many are dead wrong. He is the only one who teaches in truth. No teacher can preach a life-changing message from God’s Word without the Spirit first giving them words to speak. Without being born again by the Spirit, we have no understanding.
Yes, the problem is most preachers do not have the Spirit of God. They are not reborn in the Spirit, and hence they can not speak the words of the Lord. So they speak their own. In turn, when they hear the actual words of the Spirit from God’s servants, they are jealous and rebuke them as false.
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord GOD, “when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, to seek the word of the LORD, but they shall not find it. Amos 8:11-12
Unfortunately, because of this, there is no end to religious teachers and preachers making speeches and sermons, leading the people astray. They think they are correct, but they fall far from the mark. They are just as accurate as a blindfolded man shooting arrow after arrow in any direction he chooses, always missing the target no matter how hard he tries.
They boast in their knowledge and pretend to be the authority of His Word. They teach by their wisdom and understanding. As well as they copy what others have thought, written, or said instead of listening to the Lord Himself.
Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions. 1 Timothy 1:6-7
Beware of them! Keep watch for their ways and words. It is their fruit that will give them away. Their deeds will open the veil to the truth of who they are. They do not practice what they preach. So please do not follow them anywhere but run in the opposite direction.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. Matthew 7:15-20
The Lord says, “Seek the Lord God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.” He always leads on the right and righteous road that leads to Heaven. But the false will lead many astray, and their end will be hell and all those who follow after them. Cry out to the Lord that He may give you eyes to see, ears that hear, a mind that understands, and a heart that turns and repents.
The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. 2 Chronicles 15:2
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, Jeremiah 29:12-14
Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6-7
If you seek Jesus Christ and His Spirit, you will not be led astray by the blind. You will not fall victim to their teachings. Many will believe what is false because the blind lead the blind. But it does not have to be you. Choose wisely; Choose Jesus.
