Lay your every burden down before the Lord. Give them all up and lay them at His feet. Give Him everything, not holding back anything that you may have nothing left to give and everything to gain. He will, in turn, give you more than you can imagine. The Lord has given Jesus all power, majesty, and authority into His hands. And He is the one that goes with you when you follow Him by faith. He will make you wise.
At that time, Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Matthew 11:25-27
The Lord Jesus Christ is your strength, He is your authority, and He is your source of wisdom, provision, and power. He is the Almighty God who rules and reigns over all. What is your strength? What is your wisdom? They are nothing compared to what the Lord wants to give you. But you must lay it down so that He can give you what He has for you.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
Give it all up. Why struggle and strive to achieve with your feeble power when God can do a much better job for you? He wants to give you such wisdom, understanding, and boldness that no one can deny. As a testimony, you may say, “it is not because of what I have done, but what Jesus has done for me.”
Change the way you reason. Stop using your human intellect and worldly understanding of things to try to make sense of the ways of the Lord and the workings of the Spirit of God. But seek the discernment and understanding that comes from Him.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
This is why God says, “And without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
Everything with the Lord and His Kingdom is opposite to the understanding of man. “Those who lose their lives will save it.” “The weak are made strong.” “The foolish become wise.” “The poor are rich.” “The lowliest in the Kingdom of God becomes the greatest.” So what is there to lose but the worthless things of this world that you may gain, the best and most incredible things that God has to offer? Give up that which is nothing, that you may obtain everything.
I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods, I sing your praise; I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.
All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O Lord, for they have heard the words of your mouth, and they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord. For though the Lord is high, He regards the lowly, but the haughty He knows from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. Psalm 138
