Love Like The Lord

God has poured His love down upon the earth, upon all mankind, though they rebel against Him daily. God shines the sun and blows a refreshing breeze of life upon the good and the evil. He gives the living breath each day, goodness, pleasure, and delight to enjoy His creation and the handiwork of all the earth.

He loves them while they are yet sinners and evil in heart and action, and still offers forgiveness if they repent. He offers them a second, third, and fourth chance even though they continue to rebel. His offer of forgiveness stands until the day they die. Shouldn’t you be like your Father in Heaven and love your enemy too? Love them and be patient with them. You never know the seeds you are planting.

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44-45

He has poured out His love, compassion, and care upon you. In like manner, He calls you to do the same to others, even to the unlovable and the irreverent. You were once that way as they were, sinful and without sense, understanding, or hope. But God loved you so much that while you were still a sinner. He died for you and offered salvation and forgiveness. He offers it to even the unlovable, unreasonable, and rebellious.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” On the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:14-21

Suppose you have come to this great realization that God loves you unconditionally. In that case, you also should love one another without conditions. Pray for those who suffer, and intercede for those in need who don’t even know they are lost. Help all those you can with what you have. Pray that God may give you more so you can give beyond measure.

Love the lost, heal the broken, restore to health the sick, and be kind. Be compassionate to the lowly, persecuted, hurting, unloved, and your enemy. Show the Father the proof of your sonship by being like Him and loving one another with the love that comes only from God.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love. In this, the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:7-12
