Wisdom From Above

Seek the wisdom that comes from above, not the wisdom from a human understanding. For the natural understanding of a man will fail. But what comes from the Lord will guide and direct you along the right path, and will give you such insight and discernment that is beyond human comprehension.

For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path; for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; Proverbs 2:6-10

Follow the Word of the Lord and His insight and wisdom that is found only through walking in the Spirit of the Lord. He will give you sharpness and acuity of mind that you could have never obtained any other way.

Yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:3-5

The wisdom of this world is based on selfishness. It only seeks to puff up and cause the one who has it to boast of their great knowledge and worldly wisdom. It is used to acquire and make schemes to get things for themselves, not caring about others.

Though it may look good on the surface, in the heart it is self-serving. They hatch evil ideas on their beds and find ways to accomplish them. If you go down that road there will be a wake of hurt and pain that will create much sorrow and suffering for all who are affected. Beware that the Lord will punish such people.

Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand. They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them away; they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.

Therefore thus says the Lord: behold, against this family I am devising disaster, from which you cannot remove your necks, and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be a time of disaster. Micah 2:1-3

Godly wisdom may lead you down a rough and difficult road, painful and full of physical and emotional sorrows. But it will produce blessing through righteousness and it will be a rewarded path. Not only will you reap the good things you have sown, but you will also grow in strength, understanding, insight, wisdom, and faith along the way. Which is much more beneficial than anything tangible of this world.

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11

So look for what is good, search for wisdom, seek what is right and what is from the Lord, give yourself completely over to Him in all your ways. He will give you all you need and more. He has created you uniquely and has laid down a unique path for you to take. Will you take it?

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.

15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:13-18
