The Lord God that we serve is a loving, kind, and merciful God. He is slow to anger and forgiving to those who call upon His name. He will protect His servants under His wing.
But to the wicked His righteous indignation and holy fire will burn them up with one motion, with one word from His mouth they will be destroyed. In eternal judgement they will pay for their crimes.
Those who are scornful, wretched, blasphemous, unholy, and rebellious will not go unpunished. Their time will come. They will fall before His presence and give account for all their wrongdoing.
“I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, Matthew” 12:36
Every deed they have ever done has been recorded in His book. Every thought and motivation of their heart will be laid bare. There will not be anything hidden and there will not be any arguing or justifying on that day.
“For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:14
On that day there will be nothing that will save them. On that day they will tremble with great terror and fear. He will make a complete end to the wicked.
What do you plot against the LORD? He will make a complete end; trouble will not rise up a second time. For they are like entangled thorns, like drunkards as they drink; they are consumed like stubble fully dried. Nahum 1:9-10
Brothers and Sisters know this, the God we serve is not only merciful and gracious, but He is also righteous and just.
He gives grace to the humble but is against those who do evil. He is powerful, vengeful, and wrathful to those who do wrong. He will forgive those who fall before Him now and repent, to follow and obey Him. He will keep them safe. To those who repent and turn from their sins He will forgive and forget.
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5
But He will avenge those who harm His little ones, those who speak, and do evil.
Do not feel jealous or envious for those who seem to get away with every crime, slander, and an abundance of wickedness. Their day is coming and they will not escape.
The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord is avenging and wrathful; the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.
His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebukes the sea and makes it dry; he dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither; the bloom of Lebanon withers. The mountains quake before him; the hills melt; the earth heaves before him, the world and all who dwell in it.
Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the heat of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken into pieces by him.
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
But with an overflowing flood he will make a complete end of the adversaries, and will pursue his enemies into darkness. Nahum 1:2-8
