The Lord Reigns Supreme

Why does it seem the wicked are winning and the righteous are trampled? Why is good regarded as evil and evil good? The self-righteous and rich are elevated to a high position and rank among men of this world. The oppressor and dictator rule over the people, bringing suffering and poverty to all who are under them. They even celebrate their wickedness and abominable practices openly in the streets.

The truth is, it is because the prince of this world, the Devil is fighting hard to lie to as many as He can in this age. The devil is killing and stealing the lives and souls of multitudes for His deceptions and temporary pleasures. Rousing his hordes of demons to oppress and possess the people of this world.

They confidently cry that the evil they perform is good and godliness is evil. Making them slaves to their sin and ruling over those who have either invited him in out of ignorance or because they love the pleasures of wickedness. But his time is drawing quickly to an end and those who follow the devil will go to destruction with him. Open your eyes and turn from sin before it is too late. In the end, the Lord wins.

But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit. Those who see you will stare at you and ponder over you: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, Isaiah 14:15-16

The Lord knows what He is doing. His allowance of all of this is part of His plan. He has full knowledge of what is happening, and the Lord’s will is in full force. He will have complete supremacy over all that the devil attempts to do. Like a master chess player, the Lord can never have the wool pulled over His eyes. He sees from beginning to end.

Nothing escapes His sight. It will all be worked out for His honor, and glory, and according to His divine strategy. He knows who is His and He will use His faithful servants to preach the Gospel to all nations so that His sheep may come into His fold.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable. Hebrews 4:13

It is true you must go through difficult and tempestuous times. But that is for your growth spiritually. It is for the strengthening of your trust and faith in Him. Everything that you have done and will do for the sake of Christ will be rewarded. The Lord has recorded each and every one. He will not forget even one cup of water given to His little ones for the sake of His name.

“And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.” Matthew 10:42

So do not look to the prosperity of the wicked, lamenting, and asking why. The Lord knows the why. Their time is coming for justice to be done and your time will come for glory and reward. He even will turn the hand of the wicked against their own to accomplish His will. Their scheming, trickery, and murder will come down on their own heads. Every man will reap what they have sown. Will you reap good things? There is still time to work the fields of the harvest of souls.

Lift your eyes to the heavens and to the Lord of Glory, who is, and was, and is to come. Praise, glorify, worship, and follow Him, for He has it all in His hands. Trust Him and obey without delay and without a doubt. His victory is at hand and His triumph is certain. He reigns Supreme over all the World. “Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.”

Be gracious to me, O God, for man tramples on me; all day long an attacker oppresses me; my enemies trample on me all day long, for many attack me proudly. When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? All day long they injure my cause; all their thoughts are against me for evil. They stir up strife, they lurk; they watch my steps, as they have waited for my life. For their crime will they escape? In wrath cast down the peoples, O God!

You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? I must perform my vows to you, O God; I will render thank offerings to you. For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life. Psalm 56
