The Meaning Of Life

The biggest and most often asked question concerning the mystery of this life is, “What is the meaning of life?” “Why am I here?” “What is life all about?” The answer is straightforward. Yet, it causes people to disbelieve. They think it must be more complicated. But the truth is you are here to do the will of the Lord God Almighty. Love, follow, obey, and serve Him with all loyalty and faithfulness.

And one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question to test Him. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:35-40

Every single commandment God has given depends on love and devotion to Him and loving one another, just as God loved you. When I mention loving God, that includes all He is: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the reason you are alive. He is the source of life. He is everything good and valuable. You receive all things that are good in this world through Him. His love endures forever, and He wants to give you true purpose if you are willing to live for Him.

And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward Him and find Him. Yet He is actually not far from each one of us, for “In Him, we live and move and have our being; as even some of your own poets have said, For we are indeed His offspring.” Acts 17:26-28

To take it a little deeper. God’s desire for you is to dedicate your entire being to Him. Not just an intellectual or nominal allegiance. But to completely give up your life, live and die for Jesus Christ and His will for your life, change your direction, and follow His plans for your life. To live, move, and work in complete submission to His call. To eat, sleep, and breathe the Word of God, Jesus Himself, and to do everything you can to build the Kingdom of God for His namesake.

Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:31-33

Only those things done for God and His purposes and plan with a pure heart will last for eternity. All other things, no matter how great they may seem in the eyes of man or yourself, will not matter in the end. You can not take any of your possessions into eternity, and every deed you have done for yourself on this earth will be burned up on the day of Judgment. Only what was done for the Lord will remain.

Consider your ways carefully and establish yourself with firm and sound convictions to strive to serve the Lord to the best of your ability. Seeking His will always, and what is lacking, the Lord will grant you as a gift to strengthen you. Be grounded and rooted in the love of the Lord. Go forward from here to serve and dedicate your life to following and obeying your Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:6-8
