The Meaning Of Life

The biggest and most often asked questions concerning the mystery of this life is, “What is the meaning of life?” “Why am I here?” “What is life all about?” The answer to that is so simple and straightforward, it causes people to disbelieve. They think it must be more complicated than that. But the truth is you are here to do the will of the Lord God Almighty. To follow, obey, and serve Him with all loyalty and faithfulness.

And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:35-40

Every single commandment the Lord has given depends on love and devotion to God and to love everyone else as you love yourself. When I mention loving God that includes all that He is, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit of God. He is the reason for your living, He is your source of life and all that is good and valuable. It is through Him that you receive and have access to true wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for “In him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your own poets have said, For we are indeed his offspring.” Acts 17:26-28

To take it a little deeper, God’s desire for you is to dedicate your entire being to Him. Not just an intellectual or nominal allegiance, but to completely give up your life to live and die for Jesus Christ. To conform your life totally to His will, to live, move, work, and have your being in complete submission to Him. To eat, sleep, and breathe the Word of God, who is Jesus Himself, and to do everything you can to build the Kingdom of God for His namesake.

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:31-33

Only those things that are done for God and for His purposes and plan with a pure heart will last for eternity. All other things no matter how great they may seem in the eyes of man or yourself will not matter in the end. Everything else on the day of judgment will be burned up and be as nothing at all.

Consider carefully your ways and establish yourself with firm and sound convictions to strive to serve the Lord to the best of your ability, seeking His will always, and what is lacking the Lord will grant you as a gift to strengthen you.  Be grounded, and rooted in the love of the Lord, and go forward from here to serve and dedicate your life to follow and obey your Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments. 5 For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ.

6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. 8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:2-8
