Godliness With Contentment

Be patient and be content right where you are. With what God has given you and where the Lord has placed you. The Lord has placed you there for a purpose; He knows the reason for your waiting period. Be content where God has you at this time. If it seems He is taking too long, know that God controls your life. He will use everything to refine you into what He needs you to be, more like Him.

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?

No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Luke 16:10-13

Remember to pray always, day and night. Make your requests known to the Lord, and ask Him to give you what you need. But in the end, remember that the Lord doesn’t always give you what you think you need. But He gives what is best spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. That said, always ask Him to give according to His will. He will not refuse such a humble cry; He will answer and bless you in ways you would not have expected.

Jesus said, “Pray then like this:” “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Matthew 6:9-13

Watch yourself unless you fall into sin, asking for things you should not have or for God to bless you when you are walking in the wrong direction. It takes a strong person to ask God to rebuke them. It would be better that He chastises and purifies you of your sins than if you continue to repeat the same mistakes. Humble yourself before Him. Go to Him with a pure heart and a clean conscience, turning away from any sin He reveals to you. He promises that if you do that, He will restore and refresh you, setting you on His chosen path.

Repent, therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Acts 3:19-21

The Lord God of Heaven will bless you when you humble yourself, seek His will, and turn to follow His ways and direction. He will overflow blessings to you when the time is right and give you everything that is best. Praise the Lord that when we seek His godliness and walk in His righteousness, He gives us contentment even in the most challenging times.

But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these, we will be content.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. 1 Timothy 6:6-10
