Do not be afraid of wicked and evil men of this world, their time is coming, and the Lord will be the judge of them. But do not be fooled in thinking they are only the people who are out in the mainstream of power and influence, called secular.
But in this day and age they are right in the halls of churches, in the seats of authority, behind the pulpit, and at the head of Christian organizations and charities. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing and led by the spirit of the devil seeking to deceive, lie, kill, and pull away many from the true knowledge of God and the salvation that only comes through Jesus Christ.
“Beware of false prophets(teachers), who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. Matthew 7:15-20
Though not all, there are some who are righteous, walk in humility, and an upright heart before the Lord, His will, and are led by the true Spirit of God. But many have turned to the ways and mindset of man. Enthralled in learning the deep intellectual instruction, doctrine, theology, and teachings of man. Though learning biblical truth is good, right, and an honorable pursuit, if used properly.
Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. 1 Timothy 1:9-11
But they have tainted the Law and the doctrines of Jesus Christ by the boastful, arrogant, and ill intentions of their own hearts. They have puffed themselves up with knowledge and understanding of scholarly intellect, of high and lofty thinking. Seeking with great selfish ambition and a haughty spirit to be a ruler over the flock, to be a president or dean given to power and worldly authority. What is important is love, grace, and mercy, but they know nothing of these things.
We know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he is known by God. 1 Corinthians 8:1-3
Open your eyes and your ears to see, hear, discern, and steer clear for them. They are crafty and sound good and correct to the untrained ear. But they use perhaps 80 percent truth mixed with 20 percent lies, this produces lies that can easily ensnare and lead astray the sheep of His pasture. They will not spare the flock but come to scatter it. What is needed is to study the pure Word of God guided by the Holy Spirit, that He may teach you truth so you will be able to recognize them.
I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears. Acts 20:29-31
This is what Jude warns of. They are waterless clouds, dead trees, uprooted, twice dead, hidden reefs, and waves foaming up their own shame. They seek riches, worldly gain, pomp, and prestige among the walks of Christian society.
But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively. Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion. These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever. Jude 1:10-13
Why do you think there are thousands of Christian denominations and different rules of thought, doctrine, theology, and church teachings, and yet every single one thinks they are correct and without error. They will even fight vehemently to defend their ideas and understanding of scripture.
I tell you there is great punishment coming for those men and women who declare the Lord Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit and yet are vile in heart, mind, and soul, pretending to be known by God and led His little ones astray.
And He(Jesus) said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, Luke 17:1-3
There will come a day when the Lord Jesus Christ will make all things new, and the wicked and haughty will be no more. The fool and the deaf of spirit will become wise and will hear and understand what is right, holy, and true. But until that day be watchful, be careful, and sober-minded. Ask the Lord to reveal the snakes and the wolves that you may avoid being fooled and befuddled by their smooth and crafty speech.
Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice. Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.
Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will give attention. The heart of the hasty will understand and know, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak distinctly. The fool will no more be called noble, nor the scoundrel said to be honorable.
For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink. As for the scoundrel—his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right. But he who is noble plans noble things, and on noble things he stands. Isaiah 32:1-8
