A Heart of Thanksgiving

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.”

He is King of kings and Lord of lords, the ruler over all nations, tribes, and peoples! Ruler of the land and the sea, ruler of the heavens, and ruler of every moment of your life! May His praise and thanks to Him be upon your lips and in your heart always.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. Psalm 95:1-5

His love for you is from everlasting to everlasting, there is no beginning to it, and there is no end. He causes the sun to shine and the rain to fall on both the good and the bad. He is patient, kind, merciful, and forgiving. He is faithful even when we are not. He is gracious to those who do not deserve it.

As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep His covenant and remember to do His commandments. The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all. Psalm 103:15-19

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross. Colossians 1:15-20

He has loved you even in the depth of your sin and rebellion. At your darkest and the evilest state He loved you still and poured out Himself for you. Reaching out to you in His anguish and pain, tearfully going to the cross and paying the ultimate price. He paid for the wrath and punishment you deserved, all because of His loving-kindness for you.

Give thanks to Him for He has done mighty things, things great unto your salvation, things you never deserved, but He did them anyway because of His marvelous love for you. Give thanks to Him when your heart soars on high and give Him thanks even when you have to trudge through the deep valley of suffering.

No matter what situation or circumstance you find yourself in, He is there with you, loving and caring you through. His love and faithfulness are forever constant. He calls you His friend, He calls you His heir, He calls you His child, and He calls you His heir.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods, for His steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for His steadfast love endures forever; to Him who alone does great wonders, for His steadfast love endures forever;

It is He who remembered us in our low estate, for His steadfast love endures forever; and rescued us from our foes, for His steadfast love endures forever; He who gives food to all flesh, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of heaven, for His steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 136:1-4,23-26
