Have you ever had a horrible day, week, or maybe even an entire year or more of utter suffering? How about a painful injury, disease, or heart attack. Many suffer from great depression, sorrow, grief, abuse, or humiliation. Some in the world live in complete poverty, having nothing at all. They have been left alone with not even enough to eat to prevent starvation.
Think for a moment about all the pains, suffering, hardships, and woes a person on this planet could possibly experience. And now imagine all of that being laid upon you all together and to top it off you are thrown into a fire. That would be a terrifying experience. Then to make it worse, imagine you were in that situation for all eternity.
That is what hell will be like and worse, for those who have no Savior. All that suffering and pain they experience is punishment for their lifetime of sin and there will be no relief whatsoever. I know it is hard to hear, but you must be told. Each one of us deserves it because we have broken God’s Law too many times to count. Even though we know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong.
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
And Jesus said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty, I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:6-8
But there is hope. That hope was given because of Jesus Christ and His suffering. He died to take the punishment you deserved and rose again defeating sin and death. He took your punishment, the Wrath of God, that you and I deserve. Now He offers you salvation from hell and suffering for all eternity. You must humble yourself and turn from your sinful ways in repentance. You must have faith in Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
You must agree with God against your own prideful ways and trust in Jesus Christ and not in anything else. Turn from doing what you want, which is sin, and do what your conscience tells you, do good and not evil. Turn to Jesus, He is the way to be saved.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” John 3:16-18
“Today is the day of salvation,” says the Lord. Do not think that without Him there are better things in the afterlife. Because without Jesus there is nothing but suffering. He loves you and is patiently waiting for you to turn, follow, and obey Him. When will you do that? When will you reach for life, love, and forgiveness? The ball is in your court now. What will you do?
“And this is the judgment: the light(Jesus) has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” John 3:19-21
