Humble Servants Are Greatest

What comes to your mind when you hear “humble, meek, and lowly?” Don’t think that if you are humble, meek, lowly, poor, or in need, it’s a bad thing. The Lord is looking for those who are humble in their heart. It is the lowly person looking to the needs of others and the will of God, which God highly favors.

God allows struggles and trials to come upon His children to humble them and draw them to Himself. To pour out His righteousness and inner wealth on them. His refining fire of purification is a painful road, but for those who give themselves to it, God will purify like pure gold. An internal wealth the world can not fathom.

“He has distributed freely, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:9

Suppose you need wisdom or feel crushed in your spirit. If you do not know what to do or where to go, call upon the name of the Lord Jesus. Give yourself over to Him, humbling your heart before Him. Seek His face, His ways, and direction. He will lead you. Remember this; His favor comes with a steep price. He needs your entire life before He can do marvelous works through you. You can’t just be a casual Christian; He demands it all.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

The Lord looks favorable upon the humble, repentant, and lowly of heart to those willing to be available to Him. His love, grace, and merciful hand will lift you as on eagle wings. You will rise up in mind, spirit, and soul when your trust is only in Him.

“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Give yourself completely and totally to the Lord Jesus Christ. Sacrifice everything for the sake of His call. You may never be rich, famous, or even have a comfortable life here on earth. But Jesus doesn’t say to give up your life for nothing. On the contrary, He reserves the most significant rewards for God’s lowest servants.

Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” Matthew 19:21

God’s favor shines the brightest on the lowest of His servants. Jesus said the greatest in His kingdom are servants to all. They are Kings and Queens in the eyes of the Lord. The most loving, giving, and humble of all His servants.

“Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:4

In eternity, the reward God has waiting for the lowest of the lowly will far outweigh the suffering it took to gain them all.

And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3
