Do you know why everyone seems to be talking about Jesus lately? Jesus this and Jesus that, you must know Jesus, and He is the only way. Way to what, and why is He so important? Keep reading, this just may be the greatest eye-opening truth you have ever read. It may change your entire outlook on life, perhaps for all eternity.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
You see all mankind has a serious problem. That problem is sin. It keeps you separated from God and because of sin, which is disobeying God’s Law, He will have to judge you by what you have done. But Jesus is the key! The Key to the very real and very serious problem you have.
Jesus Christ is the perfect sacrifice to pay for your many sins. The ceremonial sacrifice of an animal as God commanded in the Old Testament times was only a temporary covering for sin. It was to cover the sins of man, those who trusted in the Lord looked forward to Him until Jesus shed His perfect blood, to make a way for sinners to be completely cleansed and washed from sins permanently.
But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of His own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Hebrews 9:11-14
This is why the Lord tore the thick veil in the temple that separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies where sins were atoned for. Previously, only the high priest could go there and only once a year to offer a sacrifice for the sins of the people.
God was showing the whole world that the way to God and to His presence had now been opened to all who repent and turn to Jesus Christ as their savior. He is now the way to the throne room of God. He is the key to salvation. He is the way to eternal forgiveness.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up His spirit. And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. Matthew 27:46,50-51
Jesus is now the Most High Priest of God, the way to Heaven, the Bread of life, the key to the gate to salvation, and the guarantor of life everlasting. A covenant that will never be broken.
For it is witnessed of Him, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness (for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.
And it was not without an oath. For those who formerly became priests were made such without an oath, but this one was made a priest with an oath by the One who said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever.’” This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. Hebrews 7:17-22
Jesus paid the price that you may be saved. He took the Wrath of God upon Himself that you would not have to die and pay for your sins forever.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:16-18
Your sins are great, your past is dark, and your ways have wandered far away from the path the Lord has for you. Jesus sacrificed Himself and shed His pure blood for you intentionally.
He knew you would one day read this, one day He would open your eyes to see and your ears to hear. He knew your heart would be broken for all the lies, thefts, lustful thoughts, murderous passions, and all the many sins you have committed.
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8
No sin is too great, no lifestyle is too wicked, no depth of immorality and filth is unforgivable, and you are never too far gone for Him to forgive. He died for them all. He died for you.
Therefore, when Christ came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll I have come to do your will, my God.” Hebrews 10:5-7
He is calling you to turn from your evil ways. He is calling you to tear your heart, weep, mourn, and cry for all your sins. For all the crimes you have committed against His Holy Law and Commands.
His hands are open to you though you have never known Him. He is ready to receive you with love, mercy, and grace. Giving you what you do not deserve, forgiveness.
He will forgive if you repent, turn from your sin, wicked lifestyle, and trust and follow Jesus Christ and Him only. He will save you from eternal death. If you give up your life for His sake, He will grant you everlasting life in Heaven with Him.
I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; Isaiah 65:1-2
