Jesus Is The Key

Do you know why everyone seems to be talking about Jesus lately? Jesus this and Jesus that, you must know Jesus, and He is the only way. Way to what, and why is He so important? Keep reading; this may be the greatest eye-opening truth you have ever read. It may change your entire outlook on life; it may change your eternity.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

You see, all mankind has a serious problem. That problem is sin. It keeps you separated from God, and because of sin, which is disobeying God’s Law, He will have to judge you by every word, deed, and thought. But Jesus is the key that unlocks the door to forgiveness. The key to this very real problem you have. “Problem,” you might ask; I don’t have a problem. Let me explain.

When you break God’s commands, such as lying, stealing, taking God’s name in vain, lusting, hating, and other things against His Commandments, these are sins. God sees you as a lawbreaker and a sinner. Therefore, He will punish those who break His Law. But Jesus is the key to forgiveness and redemption.

Jesus Christ is the perfect sacrifice to pay for all your sins. As God commanded in the Old Testament times, the ceremonial sacrifice of an animal was only a temporary covering for sin. It was to cover man’s sins; those who trusted in the Lord looked forward to Him until Jesus shed His perfect blood because He never sinned. He did this to make way for sinners to be completely cleansed and washed from sins permanently.

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation), He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of His own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.

For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Hebrews 9:11-14

When Jesus suffered the Wrath of God, the Lord tore the thick veil in the temple that separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies. Previously, we were all separated from God, but now because of Jesus’ sacrifice, the divide is open to us. Therefore, true forgiveness is available to you. A real relationship with Him is yours if you follow and obey Jesus.

God was showing the world that God opened the way for salvation to all who repent and turn to Jesus Christ as their savior. Jesus is now seated on the throne with God, waiting for you to come. He is the key to salvation. He is the way to eternal forgiveness for sins.

And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up His spirit. And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.  Matthew 27:46,50-51

Jesus is now the High Priest of God, the way to Heaven, the Bread of life, the key to the gate to salvation, and the guarantor of life everlasting. He will make a covenant with you that no one can break. Even more amazing is that He makes wretched sinners into His heirs to the Kingdom of God.

For it is witnessed of Him, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” For, on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness (for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

And it was not without an oath. For those who formerly became priests were made such without an oath, but this one was made a priest with an oath by the One who said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever.’” This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. Hebrews 7:17-22

Jesus paid the price that you deserved to suffer. He took the Wrath of God upon Himself so that you would not have to die and pay for your sins forever. Your churchgoing will not save you. Your pastor, priest, elder, deacon, or leader in the church can not forgive your sins. They can not clean the slate of crimes you have committed against the Lord. Your good works, traditions, and religious rituals will not help you. But praise God, Jesus can. Jesus is the key and the only key to salvation.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already because He has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:16-18

Be honest; your sins are great, your past is dark, and your ways have wandered far away from the path the Lord has for you. Yet, Jesus intentionally sacrificed Himself and shed His pure blood for you because He loves you.

He knew you would one day read this; one day, He would open your eyes to see and your ears to hear. I pray your heart is breaking due to the reality of all the lies, thefts, lustful thoughts, murderous thoughts, evil passions, and many sins you have committed. Yet, because He has extended mercy and grace to you, He has been waiting for you to turn from your sins and repent.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8

No sin is too great; no lifestyle is too wicked, and no depth of immorality too filth to be forgiven. You are never too far gone for Jesus to forgive you. He died for them all. He died for you.

Therefore, when Christ came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll. I have come to do your will, my God.” Hebrews 10:5-7

He is calling you to turn from your evil ways. He calls you to tear your heart, weep, mourn, and cry for all your sins. For all the crimes you have committed against His Law. His hands are open to you though you never knew Him. He is ready to receive you with love, mercy, and grace, giving you what you do not deserve, forgiveness.

He will forgive if you repent and turn from your sin and wicked lifestyle. Trust and follow Jesus Christ and Him only. He will save you from eternal death. Everyone will die someday. Then comes judgment. If the Spirit of the Lord is drawing you, please turn and humble yourself before Him. Cry out to Jesus for forgiveness from your heart. If you give up your life for His sake, He will grant you everlasting life in Heaven.

Yes, it is all true. God will make you a new creation. With a new heart and mind that will hate evil and love good. Pick up a Bible and start reading the book of John and then the other first four books of the New Testament. Then, repent and turn to Jesus today. He is calling you. How will you respond to the creator of the universe who died in your place?

I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; Isaiah 65:1-2
