Must Love One Another

Love one another and do good to everyone you meet. If you love others, you are obeying the Lord’s command. It proves that you are walking in the truth, in the light of God’s Word. Evidence that you not only are loved by God but known by God.

Love is giving, being compassionate and patient, and showing kindness toward others, both the good and the bad. You should love one another not because of anything they did or didn’t do but because God first loved you, which is how He loves you. He sends us out to be His ambassadors. To love those unloved, reach out to the lost, and lead them to true life. A life lived devoted to Jesus Christ our Lord.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love.  1 John 4:7-8

The kind of love God approves of is when you love with a genuine and sincere heart without expecting anything in return. No matter who it is or what they have done. You are truly fulfilling and obeying His commands.

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40

But suppose you speak the truth without love and act without compassion to the broken or lost person, your brother or sister, or anyone else. In that case, as Paul instructed, your work is worth nothing in the Lord’s eyes.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned but have not love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

The Lord says to give, and it will be given to you; be merciful, and you will be shown mercy. Love and love will be poured out upon you. Your heavenly Father has shown you great love; Christ died for you despite many sins. How much more should you show love and kindness to all mankind?

Everyone seeks to be loved, especially those who do not know God, even if they will not admit it. So many have rarely received or experienced genuine love or heard or received the forgiveness of God. Be the one who shows them the love of Jesus Christ.

Be the one who shares the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them so they may know what true love is. You never know what change you will make because of one act of unconditional love. This is the reason God has left us here on earth: to bring the hurting and unloved to the Lord so they, too, can be saved, healed, forgiven, and loved.

This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you. These things I command you so that you will love one another. John 15:12-17
