We do not stand on our own words or ideas but on the Word of God. We stand on the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives. Many say this, but are they truthful? Do they really stand on the Truth or the truth crafted by men?
We do not rely on the ways or traditions of men. The concepts men have molded from their own spirit or interpretation of the Word of God, but on what the Spirit of God teaches. He is the Instructor.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26
It is through the Word given by the Spirit of God that brings life, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and revelation. The words we write down have no power unless they are of the Spirit and by the Spirit of God.
Take a close look at what you are been taught in the church. Examine it carefully to see if it matches up to what God is teaching in His Word. Look at it in the light of who God is and who He has always been. Because God never changes His ways.
Consult with the Spirit of the Lord. Searching the scriptures to see if what is being taught is true. Many times there are things that you have held to be fact, that you have been taught by men that are in fact fiction. Be of a more noble and wise person. Don’t just believe it because a church leader says it.
Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the Word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Acts 17:11
Mere knowledge of the scriptures without understanding given by God is dangerous. Without the insight and wisdom of the Spirit of God, it causes the formation of practices and traditions that are not right. That God never intended.
They are in fact the teaching of demons, designed to deceive and distract. Principles taught by those who neither understand nor know what they are even talking about. You do not want to be listening to such things. You must be discerning.
Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 1 Timothy 4:1-2
True understanding and interpretation of the Word of God only come by the instruction of His Spirit.
Those taught by God will know God. Those who know God will obey the commands given by God. Those who obey His commandments will speak the Truth of God no matter who thinks otherwise. Those who speak the Truth of God will be spoken of with honor by Jesus Himself to the Father.
Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:1-6
