Are You Like Sardis

Examine yourself to see if you are like those Jesus was addressing in the Letter to Sardis? You go to church, you read the Bible, post scriptures, could win a Bible Trivia Championship, and argue biblical doctrine online vehemently.

So much so you believe you have everything right. In your mind, perhaps you think you have arrived, or you have a great reputation and standing among others in the church, the who’s who in religious circles.

Yet in the eyes of God, you are Dead!

Are you depending on the word of men and doctrines made up by men? Relying on those who have written books, commentaries, Bible college, and Biblical University Professors, modern biblical authors, and popular preachers and teachers of our time or in recent history. Though they may be good or have truth, they have no authority.

But are you relying on every word that comes from the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and His Prophets? Or do you rely on religion, tradition, and the opinion of men, putting more weight and importance in that than God?

“Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have [not] found your works complete in the sight of my God.”

Many of this age, in these last days falsely believe they have all their doctrine and beliefs correct. That they couldn’t possibly believe anything false just because they have agreed with what someone else has said.

But it is God who you need to agree with, even if you do not understand it. Agree with Him against yourself, examine your ways, your fruit, and Wake up and Repent before it is too late!

1 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.

‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being [alive], but you are [dead]. 2 Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have [not] found your works complete in the sight of my God.

3 Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.

4 Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 5 The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.

6He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ Revelation 3:1-6
