Do Not Fear

One of our biggest enemies is fear. Fear of failure, rejection, disaster, death, fear of the opinions of others, and of the unknown. Satan uses fear, as a very effective weapon, to stop you from doing what is right, and to keep you from doing what the Lord wants you to do.

Satan is so very crafty. Do not underestimate him. The devil has been deceiving men for thousands of years. He knows exactly how to hit you at just the right moment, in any given situation. This is why you need to know your own weaknesses. Especially, you need to know your enemy. So you can be victorious in standing your ground against his deceitful deceptions.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9

But you must also come to this understanding, with the Lord you have nothing to fear. There is no fear of failure, rejection, disaster, death, people’s opinions, or the unknown when the love of the Lord is your confidence. When your faith is in Him, it drives out all fear. The Lord is over all of these things. He is the ruler and possessor of everything. He is in control of each and every situation you will ever find yourself in. Even when you have to fight against temptation and the attack of the devil.

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in Him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as He is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:16-18

How often does the Lord say, “fear not,” or an angel says to whom he is speaking, “do not fear?” Time and time again God commands, “fear not for I am with you,” and many such commands He has given us. Did you hear what I said? He commands you to not fear, but rather to put your trust and faith in God. When you do put your faith in Him, fear will flee and the enemy is defeated.

Put your full trust in Him. He is in control of your life and the path He wants you to walk upon. He knows exactly where you are going. When you finally come to this understanding and rely on Him, there is freedom. There really is nothing to fear at all, but fear itself.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Give me a moment to explain further. I am not talking about just being scared, because that is an emotion, and they come and go. But when you let fear take control of your mind, body, or actions, to pull or push you in a certain direction. You have fallen victim to the trap of the devil. You are no longer trusting in the Lord God Almighty but in something else. You have let fear control you.

Remember what Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

Turn to the Lord for He is the source of your strength, hope, joy, and peace of mind. The source of your faith. He gives power and boldness to those who walk with complete confidence in Him. He gives strength to the weary, faith to the faithless, and hope to the hopeless when they call out for help. So walk forward in full assurance, in His power, and in the Spirit of the Lord.

Through the consumption of the Word of God. Keeping your eyes always upon the Lord. Trusting and keeping Him always close will you walk with complete conviction of faith. You will not fear anything that is frightening. It is only when you turn your face away from trusting Him that you fear. So keep your face looking straight ahead, watching and following Jesus.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:14-15

It is our duty to reject what don’t want us to have. He has not given us the spirit of fear. It is an enemy of our peace, breakthrough and blessings. Good post.
