Fear is one of our biggest enemies, fear of failure, rejection, disaster, death, fear of the opinions of others, and the unknown. Satan uses fear as a very effective weapon to stop you from doing what is right and to keep you from doing what the Lord wants you to do.
Satan is so very crafty. Do not underestimate him. The devil has been deceiving men for thousands of years. He knows exactly how to hit you at just the right moment in any given situation. So you need to know your weaknesses. You need to know your enemy and know who to trust. So you can be victorious in standing your ground against the devil’s deceitful deceptions.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9
But you must also come to this understanding; with the Lord, you have nothing to fear. There is no fear of failure, rejection, disaster, death, people’s opinions, or the unknown when the love of the Lord is your confidence. When your faith is in Him, He drives out all fear through His love. The Lord is over all of these things. He is the ruler and possessor of everything. He controls every situation you find yourself in, even when fighting against temptation and fear.
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in Him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as He is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:16-18
How often does the Lord say, “fear not,” or an angel says to whom he is speaking, “do not fear?” Time and time again, God commands, “fear not, for I am with you,” and He has given us many such commands. Did you hear what I said? He commands you, “do not fear.” Rather, put your trust and faith in God. Place your faith in Him; fear will flee and defeat the enemy.
Put your full trust in Him. He controls your life and the path He wants you to walk. He knows exactly where you are going. There is freedom when you finally come to this understanding and rely on Him. There really is nothing to fear at all but fear itself.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Give me a moment to explain further. I am not talking about being scared because that is an emotion that comes and goes. But when you let fear take control of your mind, body, or actions to pull or push you in a certain direction. You have fallen victim to the trap of the devil. You no longer trust in the Lord God Almighty but in something else. You have let fear control your direction.
Remember what Jesus said, “With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
Turn to the Lord, for He is the source of your strength, hope, joy, and peace of mind. The source of your faith. He gives power and boldness to those who are weak and confidence to the fearful. He gives strength to the weary, faith to the faithless, and hope to the hopeless when they call for His help. So walk forward in complete assurance, in God’s protection, and do not fear, but trust in the Lord.
Your fear will melt away through the consumption of the Word of God and believing that the Lord will take care of you. Trust and keep moving closer to Him and walk confidently in your faith. If you keep your face looking straight ahead, watching and following Jesus. You will not fear anything frightening; through the power of the Holy Spirit, He will give you the strength to forge forward into the unknown because He has designed the path ahead.
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:14-15
What a great word, Joel.
Thank you, God Bless You.

You are welcome Christine!
It is our duty to reject what don’t want us to have. He has not given us the spirit of fear. It is an enemy of our peace, breakthrough and blessings. Good post.
