Run To The Lord

What do you do when you don’t know what to do? What do you pray for when you don’t have the words to express what is in your heart? Where do you run when there is no longer anywhere to go? My friend, go to the Lord. Go straight to the feet of Jesus.

Run to the Lord! Run to His loving, compassionate, and merciful arms. He is the only one who heals, protects, and redeems. There is no one greater, more compassionate, or one who is more forgiving than Jesus Christ. He is the one you need to cry out to and give everything to, and the Holy Spirit will communicate words from your heart when you have none.

In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame! In your righteousness, deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me and save me! Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. Psalm 71:1-3

To Him and Him alone, you must run immediately. Do not delay to cling to other things. He will draw you ever closer and comfort you in your time of need when you run to Him.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars; He gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure. The Lord lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked to the ground. Psalm 147:3-6

He is all you need. He is the love and the comfort you long for. His opinion is worth more than the sum of all the riches of the world and all the cheers of mankind. His approval is upon the righteous and pure of heart. It is also worth more than any treasure that can be measured or weighed. He is your solid foundation, a faithful guide, a peaceful refuge, and a blessed redeemer.

For you are my rock and my fortress, and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me; you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God. Psalm 31:3-4

To many, this sounds too simple; it is far too obvious. There must be something more I need to do. We as human beings may think to receive something from God, we must fulfill some obligation, commission, or work to receive His comfort. But that is not how He works. His desire is for you to come to Him first with humility, repentance, and obedience from a pure heart willing to turn to Him and His ways.

He is always waiting; He is always right there all day long. He desires His children to run to His side, embrace Him in His arms, and cry for forgiveness. So that, He may show them His immeasurable love, mercy, and grace.

I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; Isaiah 65:1-2

Don’t wait or hesitate, but run to the Lord of glory. The Lord who saves souls. The Lord of salvation. He will not refuse you if you come in humility. He will not reject those who give up everything for Him and throw themselves into His loving arms. Instead, He will lift you, forgive and rescue, strengthen and restore you. He will set you up high as His beloved child, loving you like you never imagined possible. So have faith and trust that He will be there for you when you run to Him.

Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!

The Lord is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens! Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people. He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord! Psalm 113:1-9
