What do you do when you don’t know what to do? What do you pray for when you don’t have the words to express what is on your heart? Where do you run when there is no longer anywhere to go? To the Lord,
Run to the Lord! Run to His loving, compassionate, and merciful arms! He is the only one to run to!
There is no one greater, more compassionate, and forgiving than the Lord God Almighty. He is the one you need to cry out to, the one you must give everything.
In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame! In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me! Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. Psalm 71:1-3
To Him and to Him alone will I run immediately, to Him will I cling indefinitely, and to Him, I will draw close indistinguishably.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars; He gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure. The Lord lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked to the ground. Psalm 147:3-6
He is all you need, He is the love and the comfort you long for. He is worth more than the sum of all the riches of the world, more than can be measured or weighed. A solid foundation, a true guide, a peaceful refuge, and a blessed redeemer.
For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me; you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God. Psalm 31:3-4
To many this sounds too simple, it is far too obvious. There must be something more that must be completed first, some obligation, commission, or reconciliation. But He is always waiting, He is always right there all day long. He desires nothing else than for His children to run to His side, to embrace Him in His arms. That, He may show to them His immeasurable love, mercy, and grace.
I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; Isaiah 65:1-2
Don’t wait, don’t hesitate, but run to the Lord of glory, the Lord of your soul, the Lord of your salvation. He will not refuse you, He will not reject those who give up everything for Him and throw themselves into His loving arms. He will lift you up, He will forgive, and He will rescue, strengthen, and restore.
Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!
The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens! Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people. He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord! Psalm 113:1-9
