The Lord Reigns Supreme

Why does it seem the wicked are winning, and the righteous are left with nothing? Why is good regarded as evil and evil good? The self-righteous and rich are elevated to high positions and rank among men of this World. The oppressor and dictator rule over the people, bringing suffering and poverty to all who are under them. They even celebrate their wickedness and abominable practices openly in the streets and over the airwaves.

The truth is that the prince of this World, the Devil, is fighting hard to lie to as many as He can at this critical time. The Devil is killing and stealing the lives and souls of multitudes for His deceptions and temporary pleasures and rousing his hordes of demons to oppress and possess the people of this World. And due to man’s free will and sin, most of them get away with it.

They confidently cry that the evil they perform is good and godliness is evil. Making them slaves to their sin and ruling over those who have either invited the Devil in out of ignorance or because they love his ways and the pleasures of wickedness. But his time is drawing quickly to an end, and those who follow the Devil will go to destruction with him. Please open your eyes and turn from sin before it is too late. Even though this is what it seems to be, the Lord Jesus wins in the end.

But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit. Those who see you will stare at you and ponder over you: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, Isaiah 14:15-16

The Lord knows what He is doing. His allowance of all of this is part of His plan. He has full knowledge of what is happening, and the Lord’s will is in full force. He will have complete supremacy over all that the Devil attempts to do. Like a master chess player, the Lord can never have the wool pulled over His eyes because He sees from beginning to end.

Nothing escapes His sight. According to His divine strategy, it will all be worked out for His honor and glory. He knows who is His, and He will use His faithful servants to preach the Gospel to all nations so His sheep may come into His fold.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable. Hebrews 4:13

It is true you must go through difficult times as a Christian; Jesus told us it would happen. But that is for your spiritual growth. It is for the strengthening of your trust and faith in Him. At times, you may doubt that a particular pain could have a purpose, but each one does. Not only do they have a purpose, but if you endure by faith, God says they come with a reward. The Lord has recorded each and every one. He will remember even one cup of water given to His little ones for His name’s sake.

“And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.” Matthew 10:42

So do not look to the prosperity of the wicked, lamenting and asking why. The Lord knows the why. Ultimately, they will lose it all, and their time for judgment is coming; it will not pass them by. Similarly, your time is coming to be lifted from the pit, seated in glory forever, and rewarded beyond imagination.

At the right time, God will even turn the hand of the wicked against their own to accomplish His will. Their scheming, trickery, and murder will come down on their own heads. Every man will reap what they have sown. Consider what you have done; will you reap good things? If you are still breathing, there is still time to work the fields of the harvest of souls for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lift your eyes to the heavens and to the Lord of Glory, who is, and was, and is to come. Praise, glorify, worship, and follow Him, for He has it all in His hands. Trust Him and obey without delay or doubt. Repent for your sins, then turn and work heartily for the Lord Jesus Christ and the reward He promises to give to faithful servants.

His victory is at hand, and His triumph is inevitable. He reigns Supreme over all the Universe. So do as Jesus said: “Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you.”

Be gracious to me, O God, for man tramples on me; all day long, an attacker oppresses me; my enemies trample on me all day long, for many attack me proudly. When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? All day long, they injure my cause; all their thoughts are against me for evil. They stir up strife, they lurk; they watch my steps, as they have waited for my life. For their crime, will they escape? In wrath cast down the peoples, O God!

You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? I must perform my vows to you, O God; I will render thank offerings to you. For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life. Psalm 56
