How Great Is The Love of God

How great the love the Father has for you. How wide, deep, high, and long-reaching is the Love of God. The depths of the sea could not hold it, the heights of the mountains could not reach it, the vastness of the earth’s surface could not measure it, and the expanse of the heavens could not contain all the love the Father has for you. You may be saying that it is impossible for someone to love this much, but that is what God has said.

I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 108:3-4

The love of God has transformed those who are authentic and obedient followers of Jesus Christ. The evidence that they are children of God and their steadfast faith in God is their love. They will have this great love welling up like a spring within them. Living water that gives true life to their very soul. It is also like good fruit that grows on a tree to be displayed for all to see and enjoy. You can tell when God’s love is in them.

When those on the outside look at them, the love of the Lord will be plain to see. Many other good fruits will be evident: kindness, compassion, forgiveness, respect, honesty, and peace, to name a few. Do you have the love of the Lord? Is the living water welling up within you? Are the fruits of His Spirit evident in your life?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things, there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:22-24

How desperately the world needs to know of the Father’s great love; yes, you, too. God sent His only beloved Son, Jesus, into the world to die for the forgiveness of all mankind. Offering you a new life as a free gift if only you would repent, turn, and believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. Jesus did this to save you from the judgment to come and from death in hell. Jesus had to die because God is righteous and perfect and will judge every person according to what they have done in their life, both good and evil.

Call out to Jesus with a humble and repentant heart if you have not received God’s love. Call, and He will hear you. Ask, and He will forgive you and save your soul, changing your heart, mind, and soul so that you, too, may walk in His love.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this, the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.  1 John 4:7-12
