The Lord Himself will search out His lost sheep. Yes, the Lord God will seek out all His precious ones. No matter where they may wander. If you belong to Him, the Lord God Himself will pursue you even if you have been running the other way. No matter what you have done in the past because He loves you.
And Jesus said, “What man of you, having a hundred sheep if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” Luke 15:4-7
The Bible describes our condition when we have strayed away from God. Out of the pit of despair, from the miry clay that holds us there, the wilderness of depravity, and out of this sinful world, the Lord will rescue those He loves. He will lift you up and place you on a firm foundation. Relentless is His pursuit of those God loves. Yes, relentless, He will seek you out, the beloved of His heart that has gone astray. So don’t wait any longer; cry out to Jesus, and He will hear, turn, heal, and restore you.
I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:1-3
Maybe you feel like you have been driven into the wilderness as wolves scatter sheep. Perhaps it has been due to your sin or the deception of false teachers, and now you are lost, destitute, and alone with nowhere to turn. But do not wallow in your shame and sorrow anymore. The Lord Jesus is here for you. He sees you; He knows where you are and His plan for your life if you turn to Him. So turn from sin and cry out to Him, and He will come running.
The Lord will seek, the Lord will pursue, and He will find His lost sheep. Though you may have resisted with stubbornness, rebellion, and a stiff neck at times, He will not give up His pursuit. He will not give up on you. So do not give up on Him. At the right time, He will find you; He will reach out for you and restore you to the place He has destined you to be in His loving arms.
For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6
He will bind up your wounds, comfort, heal, clothe, and care for His beloved ones. With great love and compassion, tenderness, and loving-kindness, He heals the cripple, deaf, mute and rejected.
He will feed you with all good things. He will strengthen you from the inside out with His tender hand. Instruction, correction, and discipline will be His way of bringing you into a proper position before Him to those who humble themselves before Him. First, He allows you to come to the end of yourself when you have become weak; He will make you strong. When you are lost, He will make you found, and the feeble, He will mold you into a mighty warrior.
He restores, renews, and promotes His the humble. He promotes those willing to turn from their wicked ways to obey His ways and causes the lowest to become the greatest in His Kingdom. So have hope, turn to the Lord, praise His name, and give Him glory, because if you humbly cry to the Lord God Almighty, He will relentlessly pursue you.
“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.
And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture, they shall feed on the mountains of Israel.
I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.” Ezekiel 34:11-16
